This interview is over an amazing book called Skittles and Science by @EternalZephyr.
Summary: When Reyna Winters finds out that she's failing Chemistry, she's given one last chance. She enlists help from the school's White Coat Freak, Wesley Black. The boy who goes all over school in a white lab coat. He is a snarky, anti-social, chemistry nerd who surprisingly has a soft side. Much more lies under Wesley's solitary persona that Reyna can't help but wonder about. While Wesley teaches Reyna about chemistry, she learns more about him and her feelings. There's more to Chemistry than just chemicals. There's love, science, and Skittles.
@ _kekelovesyou: What was your inspiration for your amazing book Skittles and Science?
@EternalZephyr: It's been something I've wanted to write for a few years now. Back then, I was really interested in manga and anime (still am, just not as much), so that inspired most of the cute and funny moments between my main characters. I also had a big interest in Chemistry. I imagined a red-headed girl who is obsessed with Skittles, with a cute lab-coat-wearing science nerd as a love interest and went from there!
@_kekelovesyou: Which character is your favorite and why?
@EternalZephyr: I think I equally love all of my characters! I like Reyna's loyalty, Ferra's fire, Wesley's moods, and Ian....well, being Ian.
@_kekelovesyou: In a fight who would you root for, Wes or Ian?
@EternalZephyr: That's a tough one! Probably Ian. Wes has a his own cheering section of girls. ;) ...and Ian would more than likely cry if I didn't support him.
@_kekelovesyou: What made you put the little stories at the end of your chapters (I love them)?
@EternalZephyr: The first time I wrote one of those little things I was very tired and it was late. I thought 'I wonder what my characters would say about this scene/chapter...' The response from readers was so great, I continued to do it from then on. It's now my favorite part to write because I can just go crazy and silly with it.
@_kekelovesyou: Would you say that becoming a published writer is a dream of yours?
@EternalZephyr: Without a doubt, YES! Writing has become such a passion of mine. To be able to share what I write with the world, and hopefully inspire others to write, would truly be a dream come true.
@ _kekelovesyou: Did you think that Skittles and Science would become this successful?
@EternalZephyr: I could never have imagined the success of Skittles and Science. I still can't believe it! I get excited every time I see someone new reading the story, or whenever I get a new comment. It's a wonderful feeling to know that even one person likes what I write.
@_kekelovesyou: What are your top 3 hobbies?
@EternalZephyr: Writing is obviously at the top of the list. I love to design clothes and sew when I have the time. And I love gaming... I was going to say cooking, but there has to be something unproductive in the top 3.
@_kekelovesyou: How much of your life have you incorporated into this story?
@EternalZephyr: Hmm, another tough one. I put my whole heart into whatever I write, and I feel especially close to Skittles and Science because it's the first story I've come close to and AM going to finish. Reyna I feel has a lot of my personality and humor, not to mention love of Skittles, and she doesn't care what other people think of her or her relationship with Wes. I'm the same way.
@_kekelovesyou: If one of the characters from your book could be real, who would it be and why?
@EternalZephyr: Mr. Friedrick. The world's coolest teacher. I mean, Wes would have a swarm of ladies and become an evil genius, taking over the world. Reyna would eat all the Skittles. The world couldn't handle Ian and his muscles. And Ferra could probably blackmail everyone into doing her bidding.
@ _kekelovesyou: We know that Reyna has a soft spot for Skittles but if she had to choose what would her second favorite candy be?
@EternalZephyr: Nerds. ;)
@_kekelovesyou: How do you get over writers block, without going crazy?
@EternalZephyr: There are times when I do go crazy! Other times though, I just let go and write whatever comes to mind. If it doesn't make sense, I can always fix or change it later. If I get really stuck at a certain point, I move to another part of the story that I want to write and tie it all in together. Hot sugary drinks tend to help too. Like hot chocolate and coffee with marshmallows, or vanilla red tea. And there's always asking for advice and ideas from family and friends.
@_kekelovesyou: Do you have anything that you would like to tell people, a little personal info?
@EternalZephyr: All I can say is thank you. My life is far from perfect, but the love and support you all give me from doing something I love makes it all the better. You give my story life and make it worth taking the time to write it. So thank you. I have a new story in the works after Skittles and Science comes to an end, so stick around. Lots and lots of love and Skittles to you.
