Fire and Ice: Witch and Wizard

Chapter 2: Liah

   Liah ran as fast as she could, her silver hair streaming behind her. She needs to get out of this place. She hated the Shadowland.
   "Liah, come back!" Screams her brother.
   "No! I don't want to be evil like you," she cries. The power in her was already spreading through her fingertips, demanding to come out. And she lets it, the jets of ice shooting out of her hands, backwards. She hopes it hits her brother. He has the same power as her: Ice.
   "You know there's no way out!" He yells.
   Liah shakes her head, her brown eyes seething with rage, and she stops running.
   "You know there's a way out for me. I'm not staying here anymore," she says. She then concentrates her hardest, takes her hand out in front of her, and makes a tear in the fabric of the universe. Liah dives in just as the portal begins to close. That's right; she had the power to open portals. Her brother can't go through unless someone lets him.
  Like Byron, who shares the same power as Liah. Even if he's a half-light.
   "Ahhhhhhhgggg!" Liah screams- she had never gone through a portal before, even though she could make one. She was always too scared. She had never told anyone about this ability.
   Liah lands on the hot desert sand in the middle of the day. She pushed herself up and looked around. She was in the Overworld.
   Now she just needs a place to stay.
