I woke up that day thinking, "I really don't want to get up." You see, my friend was having a party that very night, and my mom said that I had to stay home and study. I was mad. Everyone was going to be there and she said I couldn't go.
I finally dragged myself out of bed, got dressed and went downstairs to eat breakfast. My mom made pancakes...and I think,"Why did she make pancakes? She NEVER makes pancakes unless its a special occasion or something like that." My head is struggling to figure this out, when suddenly it is interrupted. "Good morning", my mother said. I don't reply. "Why so quiet? I though you liked pancakes." "I do. Its just not typical for you to make pancakes." She replied,"Well it is a special occasion." My heart is racing! Is she going to let me go to the party? "I was thinking last night and I decided you could go to that party only if you can find a way to get there and if you can find something nice to wear." You see my family had no money, no cars, pretty much no anything. I was planning to have one of my friends pick me up and go shopping before the party, but since my mom said no I told her I couldn't. So here I am eating my pancakes thinking on how I'm going to get to this party, I could walk...no it 20 miles away. Even if I left now I would never make it in time.
