My breath quivers. I'm on edge as I walk home alone. It's dark out, one street lamp casting shadows here and there. My legs wobble and hands shake. A cold gust of wind pierces through my jacket. I shiver. But it's more than just the wind. A cold hand of fear slithers up my spine. That's when I hear the low, long, raspy whisper.
"Aaaaaalllllleeeeexisssss..." Stopping dead in my tracks I feel my heartbeat in my throat.
A figure moves on my right and another to my left, the sound of a twig snaps and I flinch. Goosebumps crawl up my arms and I whisper to myself.
"Don't look. Don't look. They aren't real. There's nothing there. Don't look. Don't look." I shake my head and hesitantly continue on. But another voice sounds.
"Alexis... We're coming for you." BANG!!! An immense loud noise sounds and like it's a starting gun I take off running, zig zagging through allies but they just keep popping up, figure after figure blocking my path until I'm completely surrounded when I meet a dead end in an alley. Panic sinks in, fear takes control and my knees buckle, leaving me down on the cold, hard, damp pavement. I hug my knees up to my chest and burry my face in them. Slightly rocking back and forth as tears loosen from my eyes. My heart beat is so loud by now I can hear nothing else. Until the voices begin...
