Diggle and I rushed to Oliver's office, after me having made it there from the hospital and my house for some clean clothes, an orange dress to be exact, before hearing the possibly disastorous news."Oliver. There's been a break-in." Diggle said from besides me once we made it in after seeing Isabel leaving with an extra stomp in her foot.
The workplace was crawling with police officers and such by the time we got there, and there was a misplaced door lying away from where it was supposed to be, hence the word misplaced.
Diggle crouched to get a better look at the door that now lay on the ground before an impressed and slightly worried look came upon his face. "Damn! This door was made of expanded reinforced titanium. What did they use to do this?"
Officer Lance paced around the, apparently, expanded reinforced titanium door."Not sure yet. No sign of any explosives. Maybe a crane, maybe a forklift. I'm guessing there was at least three of them, maybe four, given how quick they got in and out of here." Officer Lance than stopped in his place with an astonished look and head shake. "They were fast!"
"Any idea what these guys were so hot to break in here for? You didn't happen to leave a spare earthquake machine lying around, did you?" Officer Lance asked sarcastically before seeing Oliver's death glare. Lance sighed, realizing how inappropriate his question was and how offensive it could be to someone not even involved with Malcolm Merlyn and the others, like Oliver's mother, who aided and abetted in making the earthquake machine that had destroyed the Glades a while back, though it seemed like yesterday and still created a sore spot among people, especially the ones that lost people to it or couldn't stop it. "Sorry."
A man in a blue jacket and khakis pants came up to us with an ipad in hand. "This is what we're able to pull off the security cameras." We all crowded around him to see the security footage, and there was just one guy wearing a mask of sorts that came around the back of his bald head who threw a wooden box, or something of the sorts, at the security camera, cutting off the footage. "He was the only guy we got on video. The rest of the crew must have come in after him." the guy finished off after having showed us the video.
"Actually, it was only one guy." a tall, lanky guy said hidden between shelves in the shadows before he walked out of them with a cute embarrassed look that switched into an adorable smile a few times. "Ah, sorry I'm late. But actually, my train was late. Well, the second one. The first one I did miss, but that was my cab driver's fault. I've got this great traffic app, and... But he thought that he was right. I'm here now, though. So."
"Great.Who the hell are you?" Officer Lance asked with a disapproving and confused frown.
"And do your parents know that you're here?" Oliver finished with a completely serious and concerned look and slight tilt of the head.
The guy got a sort of hurt look on his face before answering their questions. "I'm Barry Allen. I'm from the Central City police department. I'm with the crime scene investigation unit. We're working on a case with some similar unexplained elements in Central City, so when the report of your robbery came over the wire, my captain sent me up here."
"And you think one guy ripped through this door like it was tin foil?" Officer Lance asked with a raised eyebrow and obvious disagreement.
I sighed internally, it's not the weirdest thing that's happened here, and there's my "condition" of sorts that kind of makes dismissing the possibility of someone with super strength kind of hard and illogical.
"One very strong guy, yeah." Barry nodded, not taking the obvious disagreements or disapproval get to him or sway his opinion. "Uh, it takes about 1,250 foot pounds of torque to break someone's neck. You see the marks on the guard's neck?" Barry showed us an ipad with the dead guys dead body and pointed out the bruise on the guys neck. "The bruising pattern suggests the killer used only one hand." Barry took notice of the fact that no one really looked impressed at the bruising pattern or what it suggested and couldn't stop the excited grin from stretching across his face. "I'm guessing you don't know how hard it is to break someone's neck." Barry stated, looking at Oliver pointedly.
