Chapter 3

I remember being surrounded by the stench of my own blood because of the glass that pierced my face and side and because of the air bag that hit my face practically full force, forcing the pieces of glass in my face deeper into my skin. I remember hearing the sirens stop me for losing consciousness for only a second longer before it was too hard to keep my eyes open and to prevnet me from falling asleep. Then, there was darkness and dreams of dead bodies that I'd seen enough in my lifetime and never wanted to see again.

"You can't fight this, you proved it time and time again for the past week."

"Let it in, let the calm of not having to fight this anymore calm you so that you can rest easy."

"Stop it, stop it, stop it!"

"C'mon, you want this. Let it in! Let it in! LET IT IN!"

"STOP!!!"

Felicity shook and screamed in the hospital bed as the sound of beeping exhilarated into a rapid beat to represent her heartbeat. Sara, Diggle, and Oliver could do nothing but watch from the side in worry and fear. They had no idea what was going on or what caused the accident. All they knew was someone showed up close to their Arrow Lair wanting Felicity, the simple IT girl and not the Arrow and that Felicity's car had been in two pieces when they got to the scene to check things out.

Oliver paced in a rushed panic. This was his fault, instead of letting her run and not going after her immediately after waking up, she got into a car accident and lay there unconscious and alone. He realized that they had spent how long in the Arrow Lair, and he never knew that she had any secrets like this. He thought she was just an IT girl who hid in an office with obvious beauty that had been invisible to him for so long because of the fact that he only had eyes for Laurel and Sara Lance. But now it was nearly impossible to be blind to her beauty and other traits of hers that made her even more beautiful, like her babbling, and he was just now realizing just how much he liked her and would hate to lose her as she lay in the hospital bed and had been off for the past week for reasons unknown to him, the only clue being that she had been awake in the lair but she was thinking that she needed to wake up.

Sara stood, taking turns watching the panicking Oliver and Felicity, who's tossing and turning had gotten worse. She admired Felicity, even found strength and motivation from her. Felicity had stood by Oliver, even when he went against her beliefs as he went around shooting arrows into people in a way that seemed merciless, and she had put herself in the face of danger because of her faith in Oliver and her determination to help people. She had no fighting skills and frail arms, but that hadn't stopped her. That is why Sara would've done anything to help the girl.

Suddenly, Felicity was shouting names that were incoherent to them until she woke up screaming in a way that broke their hearts. Felicity sobbed and screamed, like she couldn't stop until it finally died down before she stood up on trembling limbs, rushing around the room, gathering clothes.

She couldn't stay there, she couldn't stay in the presence of her friends when she could end up being the death of them and she couldn't stay in that dreaded hospital where she was put into the brink of insanity because of the death that surrounded her there. She couldn't stop the sob from escaping her mouth. She didn't want to have to leave everything behind again, but she had to because, if she didn't, he'd find her again, use her as another weapon in his arsenal, his prized weapon. She wouldn't be his prize again.

But where else could she run? Her family was either dead or doing crimes and making disappearing acts, and her friends wouldn't be able to stand against him and his other weapons. Not against Matt and his pet Ward.
