''No.No.No.No. Stop. Make it stop.'' the chosen one cried out.
Make it stop? Make what stop? What was going on? Draco got out of his stall and knocked on Harry's door.
''Harry?'' he started carefully, ''can I come in, it's me, Draco.''
Only silence followed, but Draco waited patiently, and Harry must have heard him because he unlocked the door soon after that.
Draco couldn't believe what he saw next...
He pushed the door open so that he could peek in. But the sight broke his heart. Harry was sitting curled up on the floor in the corner of the stall with his knees clutched tightly to his chest, rocking back and forth. The boy had puffy red rimmed eyes, tear stained cheeks and was silently crying.
Draco didn't know what to do, he obviously wanted to comfort the boy in some way, but he didn't know how. What he did know was that he couldn't just stand there and look, so he kneeled down in front of the boy and wrapped his arms around his shaking body. Or better said, he tried to, as he realized that Harry was actually much larger than him. He could feel Harry tense underneath him but he relaxed into him after a while.
''It's okay Harry, I'm here now, I'm sorry for what happened in the common room, I didn't mean any of those things. I promise.'' He whispered gently, careful not to scare the boy as he seemed pretty shaken. Draco started to wonder if the cause of this was really just his stupid remark.
It was like Harry read his thoughts, ''I'm n-not upset because of that.'' he said before he exhaled a shaky breath.
''What happened then?'' Draco asked, clearly confused as to what could have made the boy feel this way. Harry did not respond, though, he simply looked down and played with the hem of his shirt. He was nervous, Draco could see that he was biting his lip, and that's what Harry did when he was nervous.
He did it this morning too when they were changing into their house attire, not that Draco necessarily paid attention to those sort of things when Harry was changing. At least, he thought he didn't, but lately staring at Harry had become quite the habit of his.
''You can talk to me you know, I'm all ears.''
Harry thought about it. Really what could go wrong? Well lots of things could go wrong but he truly wanted to talk to Draco, after all, he was the one who woke him from his nightmare. Merlin knows how much he's heard. He deserved an explanation of some sort.
''Can you promise me not to think weirdly of me when I tell you why I'm upset?'' he pleaded.
''I promise.''
''Well, as you may or may not know,'' Harry started to light up the mood a little, ''I had a nightmare last night.''
''Yeah I got that.'' Draco responded, eager for more information. ''Well the nightmare was about my Uncle Vernon,'' Draco noticed that the boys hands started to shake a little bit more when he spoke of his uncle. He wondered why that was. ''it was not necessarily a dream, it was more like a-'' ''A flashback.'' Draco finished. ''Yeah.'' The boy managed to get out, he was rather astonished by the fact that Draco seemed to know what he meant. The blond boys eyes were soft and he had a look of understanding on his face that Harry couldn't quite grasp.
''What event did you flash back to?'' Draco asked, and it seemed to get harry out of the trance that he had been in. Now he had a worried and panicky look in his eyes. The boy swallowed deeply.
''I-I c-can't.'' was all Harry could get out. He didn't want to talk anymore, it was too overwhelming and the walls seemed to close in on him. His breathing was starting to get uneven. He got up and pushed Draco away. ''I need to g-get to class. And-d so do you.'' he stuttered, before he walked out of the stall and out of the bathroom, on his way to the DADA classroom, hoping he'd be a bit on time. He hated being late. Not that Professor Lupin would mind though. He seemed to let every single error of his slip into nothingness. People started to call him the teachers pet. But he did not really mind, he was rather fond of the idea that a teacher didn't hate nor glorify him - not that Professor Lupin didn't glorify him, because he surely did, but it felt different with him, it felt like, like home - because of the fact that he was Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived. He wished that he didn't live, it only caused people pain.
Nearly everyone was already seated when he walked in so he sat down in the back of the classroom and started to take his books out, even though he knew that with Professor Lupin he will probably not need those.
~
Draco walked in and scanned the classroom for any empty seats. But because he was late, the only empty seats were next to him. Not that Draco minded because honestly, he didn't, but he also didn't want Blaise to make a rude comment which would make Harry upset again.
He sat down next to Harry anyways, he didn't want to upset him after what had just happened in the bathroom.
''Good to see you, class.'' Professor Lupin spoke, and everyone stopped chattering. ''I wanted to discuss something important with you today but my hus-'' he froze, ''a personal matter has interfered with that.'' ''I would give you my sincere apologies, but I assume none of you mind not having class for once, do you?''
''Pff, of course we don't mind.'' he heard Draco huff next to him and the class agreed.
Actually Harry did mind, blimey, he cared a lot. Because this meant that he would have to spend the rest of this period in the common room, with his fellow Slytherins.
He wasn't gonna just sit there and let them roast him, so he decided he'd go somewhere else. But where could he go? He started walking up and down the stairs, he didn't notice that a certain blond haired Slytherin was following him though.
It was silent, wherever he was. He looked around. The seventh floor. He had not quite realized that he had gotten that far.
Merlin's beard, he just needed a place to stay in and get his head in the right place before he had to go to the next class.
Just as he thought that, a crack appeared in the wall next to him. The crack got larger, and larger. And then the crack became an opening, Harry couldn't stop staring at it. Did he see that right? The boy rubbed his eyes until stars started to appear.
He opened his eyes and gasped, the opening had now become a door..
