Chapter 4: Training.
"Come on catch up!" Tamanaki yells as he runs through the forest in front of me. We're training. Checking my abilities.
We're currently running through the forest on a 5 k run. I'm on 30 cm behind him, and he thinks I'm 'lagging' behind. What more does he want from me?
"Come on or it's 50 leg kicks!" He says.
I cant speak because I'm so puffed out. I'm fast, fastest in my school, but he's super fast. Like really.
"Alright 50 leg kicks!" He yells. "You didn't keep up."
"Aww, but, I, was, like, 30, cent-emet-ers." I say I between breaths.
"Too bad, you should be able to push over that tree after that!" He says
I start kicking the tree and after 10 kicks the tree falls. I look at Tamanaki with a questioning look. Asking him if that's good. He shakes his head. Awe c'mon! What now.
"Climb that tree." He says bluntly. I look up at the trees he's pointing at. And woah..
It
Is
Big
It's atleast 100 feet tall! Tallest tree in the forest! And he wants me to climb it?
"How?" I question.
"Figure it out."
"Gee, thanks." I say sarcastically.
I start by trying to run up the tree several times only making it about 6 -7. Feet off the ground, still higher than the average human.
I then start trying to grab on with my hands on the bark but that doesn't go well.....
I continue on these tack tics for a while, but then I realise Tamanaki, I completely forgot about him.
"Still don't feel like helping me?" I say through gritted teeth.
"Nahh not really." He says. I glare at him. I try one more thing, since the only branches are up high, I jump. I jump with all the strength in my legs and I am just able to grab the branch with my hands. I hang there for a moment, proud of myself, then I spin myself up so I'm standing on the branch. I jump up to the next branch and the next.
By the time I'm at the top I'm super tired. I pretty. Much fall out the tree but I grab the first branch that I jumped on and hung there. Grabbing into the tree and sliding down.
"You finally made it, after an hour." Tamanaki says.
"Hey! I've never done this before!" I say back.
"We'll you defiantly learned after than anyone I've ever known." He says "sit down. I should tell you something else."
I sit down and wait for him to start.
"Back in the other world, the princess and I, Ireland her name was, we, we had a relation ship. We were close. But not dating. She said she was in danger. You see fairies were born so that they can walk and talk once their born. So bye the time she was 6 she was about 12 maybe 13. She said she was in trouble with her sister. She said she was coming for her. But I was stupid. I didn't believe her. The next day I went to say sorry but she wasnt there. She was taken that night. After that I put myself into my studies and didnt let her disappearance get to me. That's how I got this job. So I could try find her." He explains.
"Oh..." It all I get out.
"So, she was like your best friend." I manage after a few minutes of silence.
"Yeah, " he states, sadly.
"I- I'm sorry."
