Nathan's POV
I leave my house on Monday morning to reach my office which is around 15kms away from my home.
I have been working there for a year now so I have a set routine which I follow every single day.
I leave home a little early so that I can stop at a coffee shop near my house to grab my morning coffee and something to eat.
So like every day I reach the coffee shop right on time and order myself a cappuccino. I like my coffee simple and sweet. I also order a ham and sweiss panini.
I am about to leave the cafe when someone catches my eye.
Dressed in a casual attire of shorts and a T-shirt, is that woman from the bar again. Nia. I haven't been able to stop thinking about her.
This morning was somewhat better. I hadn't thought of her all the way, the whole morning. And now she was here, right in front of me.
Before I realize I start walking towards her. Just like I did in the pub. I don't know what comes over me when I see her. It's like every atom of my body is attracted to her. She sure as hell has a hold on me without being aware of it.
"Hey!Remember me?"
She looks up and stares at me with clear confusion on her face. Then suddenly it dawns on her who I was.
" Yes! You are the guy who was not hitting on me", she gives me a smirk.
"Woah! Lower your voice. If people hear I was not hitting on a girl as beautiful as you they might think something is wrong with me."
"I already do", she smiles innocently.
" In that case, I have some amends to make."
I take a seat in front of her.
"Sure sure please sit", she remarks sarcastically.
" Thank you. I knew you would want my company.."
She rolls her eyes. But I continue.
"So I have clearly not forgotten you or the fact that you had to tell me your secret."
"Well I had forgotten you as well as the other thing." She raises her eyebrow.
I grab my chest as if her words hurt me. She rolls her eyes again. She does that alot!
" Please tell me what it is. Or should I wait till I am ambushed by Zayn Malik's bodyguards again?"
"Shhh..keep your voice low. Nobody knows about us", she frantically shushes me.
" Ok ok..but you have got to tell me your secret."
"Oh God! It wasn't that great too. I just want guys to stay away and for that I use something they fear the most and that is responsibility."
"I get very close to them and whisper in their ear that I would love to dance with them but they need to be extra careful with me as I am pregnant. That's it and that makes them run away like headless chickens."
I was a little disappointed and surprised at the same time.
Disappointed because I expected more and surprised because that's all it takes to get rid of guys even if it comes from a pretty girl.
"Well that is smart", I tell her. " But I don't understand if you don't want to be hit on, why do you go sit at the bar all alone. Girls usually do that because they are looking for something. You have a great boyfriend and a VIP room all for yourself ,then why all this?"
Immediately her eyes droop and I can see sadness in them.
"I love talking to new people and I don't get to do that alot even in my free time. Because whenever I am free I spend my time with 'him' and we can't go out together and when he isn't here he is in a different continent and in a different time zone. So keeping contact with him alone exhausts me that I barely go out. And if I do, it is with my friends or family. I barely travel and meet new people."
She finishes and looks out the window.
I feel a sudden urge to protect her and hug her to tell her everything will be fine.
