Okay guys, before you say anything, I'm just going to inform you that this is just a little sneak peak into what I'm writing at the moment.

It's kind of different to what I'm used to writing, but I wanted to take the risk and just go for it.

Please let me know what you guys think.

I want to know if I should continue, or dump it.

Love,

SilvrStake

Abercoster’s Institute For Troubled Youth

A shiver ran down October’s spine as she read the sign that towered over her head. This was where the voices had finally landed her – in an asylum with a bunch of other crazy teenagers.

October wasn’t crazy; she knew that with utmost certainty. She didn’t imagine the evil voices that had murdered her aunt and uncle that night so many years ago. They were real; she was just the only one who could hear them.

For years she tried to convince her parents that the voice haunted her, but they never listened. When she was younger, Mr. and Mrs. Grimmes could easily disregard their daughter’s rants about strange voices as “a child’s over-active imagination.” But as she grew older, her stories did not cease and her parents began to worry.

Finally, after a countless number of visits to a countless number of therapists, the Grimmes had no choice but to accept the fact that what their daughter had witnessed that night had troubled her so deeply that it had affected her sanity. They had no choice but to pack her off to the Institute.

The nurses at Abercoster’s accepted her warmly, and before long, seventeen year-old October Grimmes was lying in a strange bed, in a strange room which she shared with a strange girl.

She cried herself to sleep that night, thinking the same thought over and over again in her mind.

I’m not crazy…

I’m not crazy…

I’m not crazy…

“We know, dear.” A cold voice whispered in her ear. “Don’t worry. Your secret’s safe with us.”
