Mission

On the request of ms_scottie2014, I decided to make this a little bit longer. And trust me, we're in for a ride! ;)

"Team, I have a mission for you." Batman said as the team gathered in the mission room.

"This is Professor Sam Talvak. We got an anonymous tip that someone is trying to assassinate her. We are not sure who was contracted to kill her, but we do know that it's going down tonight. Aqualad, I have sent the co-ordinates to the Bioship. You leave in five minutes." Batman explained the mission. (*1)

"So why does someone want her dead?" Kid Flash asked.

"She got mixed into some nasty people. She also designed a weapon. A deadly weapon." Batman said.

"Wait. She has a weapon?" Kid Flash asked.

"Yes. This is another reason why you need to save her. We don't want it getting into the wrong hands." Batman said. 

"And if it gets into the wrong hands?" Artemis asked.

"Millions will die. Perhaps even billions." Batman replied.

"Well then, guess we have no choice but to win!" Kid Flash joked around.

"Don't joke about this! This weapon CAN'T get into the wrong hands. And neither can the Professor. So, don't joke." Batman snapped.

"Yes sir!" Kid Flash said with wide eyes.

"Head out. NOW." Batman growled.

"Was it just me, or was Batman a bit more moody then usual?" Kid Flash asked on the Bioship.

"He's right my friend. We need to take this one seriously." Aqualad said.

"I know that! He could've been a bit nicer though." Kid Flash muttered.

"Batman? Nicer? Ha!" Artemis laughed.

"Sorry Kid Flash, she's right. Batman is...Batman." Zantanna said.

"Yeah, well...he could chill it!" Kid Flash said.

"You're walking on thin ice there buddy." Rocket said.

"We've arrived at our destination." Miss Martian said.

"FINALLY!" Kid Flash yelled and ran out of the Bioship.

"KID FLASH! WAIT!" Aqualad yelled, but he was too late.

"Two words; child leash." Artemis whispered in Aqualad's ear.

When the rest of the team got there, it was utter chaos.

Kid Flash was hiding behind a pillar and the assassins were shooting at it.

Robin and Aqualad immediately spotted the professor, who was hiding under a desk.

"Team, take down the assassins! " Aqualad said into the mind link.

The team quickly got to work.

Soon, all the assassins were taken down.

"Hello Miss Talvak. Do not worry, we work for the Justice League." Aqualad said.

"I'm not worried about you, I'm worried about them!" Talvak pointed to behind the Team.

One of the assassins, with a gun, was getting up and aiming at the Team.

Robin quickly moved to grab the nearest gun.

He took the shot.

"Robin! You just shot someone!" Kid Flash yelled after the ringing stopped.

"It was him or us!" Robin pointed a finger at KF.

"Is he dead?" Artemis asked looking at the guy on the ground.

"I don't know." Aqualad said as he was getting up.

He walked over to the guy and checked for a pulse.

Hey! Should the guy be dead or alive?

(P.S.- This will change the story either way.)
