*Melodey's P.O.V*
I come home from the pizza parlor and decide to lock myself in my room where nobody can bother me. *Sigh* I thought I would actually be enjoying my winter break. Christmas is over. New Year's, here we come. New Year's is literally only a few days away and I still haven't made any plans. How pathetic of me. I'm sure a 15 year old like myself can find something interesting to do.
In defeat, I finally decide to open up my laptop and go on youtube. Oh look, Markiplier updated his channel only a few minutes ago. One video led to another and next thing you know I was passed out with my laptop still on wasting it's battery. I wake up to my Spotify playlist playing Carousel by Melanie Martinez which just happens to be one of my favorite songs.
I burst out into random dancing. "And it's all fun in games, til' somebody falls, in lo-" I sing pretty loudly. *KNOCK KNOCK* I glance over at my clock to see that it's 1:08am. Wha....I thought it was earlier than that like maybe 11pm or something like that.
I quickly run to my phone to pause the song to make sure it's not blasting as I open the door. I open the door hesitantly and see a very exhausted brother. He steps into my bedroom lazily and closes my door behind him. "What are you doing?" I ask puzzled. "SHHHH!!! Mom and Dad are sleeping and so was I but since we have rooms next to each other I could hear all the noise you kept making." My big brother, Nick, complained. "Whoops" I responded.
Nick rolled his eyes and left my room "Go to sleep" he said before closing my door behind him. It would have been nice if he would've locked it too but whatever.
I walk back over to my phone to turn on my music again but I find that it's dead. Shit! Now where did I put that charger of mine? I look around my room but find nothing. Well this sucks for me. Just as I was about to give up I see something poking out of my batman bookbag. Ah, there it is!
* The next morning *
"MEL!!" I hear a familiar voice call out to me. "WHAT!!!!?" I yell back at whoever it is that is yelling for me. "COME DOWNSTAIRS YOU HAVE A LETTER." Ah there is the lovely voice that I know and love of my mother. "CAN U BRING IT TO ME?!" I screech.
I hear mumbling coming from what seems like the kitchen followed by the creaking of the stairs then followed by a knock on my door. I quickly unlock the door and greet my mom. "The letter?" I ask with my hand held out. "Goodmorning to you too. Here, you have two of them." I roll my eyes and take the letters from her. "Morning mom, thanks, bye."
I close and lock my bedroom door and then check out what kind of letters I got. One seems like it's from my highschool. Crap this is my stupid progress report. I better hide this from my parents. First semester I was in the high honor roll or whatever but I'm not so sure about this semester.
The second letter seems to be from one of my friends. Why don't they just text me? Let me open this before I open my progress report. I open the letter from my friend Jessica and it looks like I got an invitation. Again, why didn't she just text me? I proceed to finish reading it and I guess I'm going to be going to a dinner party. When is this? TOMORROW?! Oh HELL no! Crap, last minute as always.
Now for the progress report. I take a deep breath as I proceed with caution as I open it. Oh, alright, okay, not too bad. I did pretty decently until I saw my history grade which was a 68. Now, don't take me for a dummy or anything, I am in all honor classes so the work is a bit harder than everybody else's. Not trying to brag or anything. But this is NOT good at all. My parents can definitely never see this or else I'm screwed.
