ONCE AGAIN

What did that mean?

I'm pacing around my room thinking about last night. The nightmare. As you know today's the annual thingy. Ugh...looks like i may have to join in. What a day for Mrs.Catherine to be off! Maybe I should just sneak out and return like...5 minutes before everything is over. Yup! Perfect. Now...time to get ready to sneak out.

Just as I was about to sneak out the room, I get caught. Oh great. My plan might fail.

"Cindy?" Hold up, that's Mrs.Catherine's voice. I turn and look at her.

"Hi." Yup. That's all I said.

"What are you doing?" Gulp.

"Nothing...I just don't want to be part of this annual game thing day." Not a total lie.

"Sorry sweety, you have to come..." Hmm..

"Why??"

"Someone has requested to see you." Was all she said. To be honest, I became curious. Who could it be? Eric? No, it can't be... . Or could it?

Nodding, I follow her to the front of the main room. I saw two parents, and a kid. No sign of Eric. I hide behind Mrs.Catherine, hoping not to be seen.

"I've brought her," she says gently taking me by my wrist and making me come Infront. They just look at me like I was some type of For Sale toy that's being judge either worth it, or not. I'm not something you can play with people. "Hi," I said.

Okay... awkward..what else am I supposed to say? Just as I was about to say something else, he showed up, and my mouth just hung open. Hey flies! You are most welcomed in here!! Nah. This can't be for real...dude, I didn't even tell him my orphanage's name. (Not that I know it my self ahahaha...haha..)

"Eric?" Why. Just why did I smile? I don't think I should have done that. Either way, he smiled back, nodding. Guess what? What a miracle! Oh my, that judgement face his parents were giving me, was replaces by a nice, warming smile. Huh, I hope there thoughts have changed because, I am secretly hoping they adopt me. Then again, I guess it's fine if they don't. (No it's really not ok.)

Here's what I'm thinking, 'Oh my gosh!! Adopt me please! Your Eric saved my life! I trust him well enough, to trust you as well!'
Nice thought right? But, however, in reality, you know what came out my mouth? The most ridiculous this that was obvious, but, I said.

"You guys are his parents? Woah, where he get his looks from, cause it sure ain't you guys." Dumbass me said that. Like seriously? Who the fuck says that? I quickly shut my mouth, clapping my hand over it and turn my back to them.

"Uh..sweetie, are you experiencing head injuries?" His mother said that. To me. Someone actually said that to me, wow, I like her.
Should I just lie and be like 'yes, yes I do.' Payback for Eric coming here before I even told him I was comfortable.

I turn around to see Eric giving me a confused look. "Can I..can I just speak to you for a quick second?" I shook my head. Serves him right. Not listening to me, he grabbed my hand, and pulled me to the side. "What are you doing? Don't you want to come?"

"Yes I do. But I also clearly remember telling you, when I am comfortable, and ready."

"So what, I don't want another family taking you." He says with worry written over his face. I just stare at him. He stares back.

That's what we were doing right now, having a stare down.
