It has been a week since I have seen Ricky. I'm so anxious to see him. My mom thinks Ricky is just a friend. And she thinks he is 14, not 16. But, why go into detail? Waiting to leave for the movies has been hard. I started to get ready at 10 and finished at 1. We left for the theater at 2.
"Are you sure you don't want me to stay, honey?" My mom asked.
"No, I'm good. Thanks," I responded.
"Okay, sweetie. Have a good time!" My mom kissed me on the cheek and left the theater.
I turned around and examined the ticket area. I spotted Ricky in line for tickets. I waved to him.
"Hey!" I said.
"Oh hey!" he said.
"So what's up" I asked.
"Nothing much, buying tickets," he replied.
"Yeah, well. Other than that?" I asked.
"Oh. Nothing." He said, his face turning an odd shade of red.
After buying the tickets, Ricky and I bought some popcorn and sodas and headed for the theater. Ricky told me that he loves root beer. I, don't hate it, but I would much rather prefer some regular Coke.
During the movie, it was so hard to focus on what was happening. All I was doing was staring at Ricky. He was so cute. I wanted to date him so badly. But, he probably already has a girlfriend. Someone that is actually his age. I could dream, but it wouldn't happen.
That's what I thought. At the time. After the movie, Ricky asked if I wanted to go to the frozen yogurt store across the street. Of course, I agreed. More time with Ricky means more time staring at his face. And I am up for that any day. At the frozen yogurt shop, Ricky started talking about a new girl he has been talking to. I just simply nodded saying that she seemed nice. But he ended the story saying that she turned out to be using him to get a role on Disney. I was so happy to know that she wasn't apart of his life. Wait. So does he have a girl in his life?
Just as a began to think about that, Ricky asked me the question.
"So, what's your boyfriend like?" He asked, staring at his frozen yogurt.
"Why would you think I have a boyfriend?" I responded.
"Well. Your so beautiful, I just assumed you had a boyfriend." He said.
"I'm beautiful to you?" I asked, blushing.
"Of course. I mean, look at you," He said, smiling.
"But, I'm so out of your Leauge. I mean, your 3 years older than me. And I'm pretty sure there are a line of girls that are dying to date you." I replied.
"Wow, I never knew you get that way," he said.
"Sorry. Did I weird you out?" I said, sighing.
"No, I like what I'm hearing. I've liked you since the day I saw you at that red carpet," he said.
"What? Me too." I said, blushing, "but. Are you sure? I mean, you probably like someone that's your age."
"Why would I? Everyone my age is just obsessed with dating as many guys as possible. But you, all you care about is being happy," he said.
"I never knew you felt that way about me," I said.
"So what do you say? Will you go out with me?" He asked.
"Of course." I responded, smiling.
He hugged me and this time, it felt special. It felt so different. Like nothing I have ever experienced before. This is new & amazing.
