I finally made it back home. I kind of made it back a little later than I said I would be back. Instead of 1 hour, I spent 3 hours at Tina's! It was now night time. As I was sitting in the back of the car, I was slightly nervous about what my parents would say. I know they would start questioning everything.

We steadily pulled up in front of my home. The driver opened the door like usual. I exit out the car. I put my key through the doorknob and opened it. Before I could even get myself situated, my mother came storming out of the kitchen like a crazy person. I couldn't even get a word out before she started pestering me.

"Where the hell have you been? It's dark outside! Are you trying to kill me?" She nagged.

Trying my best not to roll my eyes or say anything rude.

"Sorry. Me and Tina were just sorting out some stuff for tomorrow."

"You told us you were going to be back within the hour? It's been 3. Why did you lie?"

"I didn't mean to stay out late. It was all a misconception."

She sighed. She sat on the couch and closed her eyes.

"Come sit." She signaled. I sat on the couch next to her. She held my hands in hers.

"Look, I'm sorry for pestering you. It's just that, you're leaving in a few hours and I want to make sure you don't disappoint us. I know it may seem like me and your father doesn't care but I a sure you, we do. We're immensely proud of you. I'm just scared you might...." She took a long pause and chucked. "I think you get the point."

I looked her in her dark brown eyes. It seemed like she was about to cry.

"I understand that but mother, I'm 18."

"I know just...Be good okay?" She abruptly hugged me. I slowly and hesitantly wrapped my arms around her. I know she means well but I just get sick of my parents treating me like this sometimes. I try to think of the positives, in a few hours I will no longer live like this. My heart suddenly begins to pound at the thought of this.

We finally let go of each other. "You should probably go to sleep. You have to wake up early tomorrow."

I was kind of relieved when she said that. I wanted to get out of this awkward moment. I quickly break away from her and retreat to my room. Once I made it to my room, I closed my door and changed out my clothes and into my pajamas. I quickly got under my covers and went to sleep, hoping this will all go by quickly so I can finally be on my own.

THE NEXT DAY--------------

I wake up to my mother bursting in my room and flicking on the light switch. I made a face in annoyance.

"C'mon Anna. You don't want to miss your flight. You go get ready and the chauffeur will gather your bags."

I groaned and reluctantly rolled out of bed. "What time is it?" I asked.

"About 7:30."

"What? My flight doesn't leave until 9:00."

"Well we have to go meet up with Tina so you both can leave together, then it'll take us about an hour just to drive to the airport. Chop chop!"

I groaned and dragged myself to the shower. While inside, I can hear them packing my bags into the limo's trunk.

After a 10 minute shower, I dressed myself and exited the bathroom. My hair was still semi-wet when I made it downstairs. My mother and father was getting themselves situated to leave. Since I barley had time to do anything else with my hair, I just threw it in a messy bun.

My family a boarded the limousine. I took one last look at my old home and sighed. 18 years in that home and I'm already leaving. It had its ups and its downs but I know I'm going to miss it. The driver started the vehicle.

My father turned away from the window and looked over at me.

"You ready? Are you nervous?" He asked with a forced smile.

I nodded. "Yes. I'm ready to start my own life. I understand L.A. is a long way, guys but you really don't need to worry about me."

I wanted to make sure they understood that I can handle myself comfortably without sounding too firm.

"You do remember what I told you when you get there? Be cautious." My father added.

I made a silent sigh. "Yes, I know. No drugs.." I've never held a drug of any kind before in my life. I don't know why they're so worried I might get sent back home with an addiction to pot or something.

"Yes. No drugs, no boys, no gambling, no skipping class. If you get sent back that scholarship is down the drain," My mother nodded defensively.

I turned away from them and rolled my eyes. Ever since I graduated, I feel like all they ever done was nag me. A simple 'Oh Anna we're so proud of you would have been suffice.' I bet if I just decided to drop the whole college thing right now, I bet my entire wealth they'd help me unpack my bags so quick.

"But most importantly," My father continued snapping me out of my thoughts; "No sex."

I swear I am going to get a headache from all this eye rolling I'm doing. Not that I'm ever in a rush to have sex but I just feel like they're accusing me when I haven't even done anything yet.

"Okay I get it." I responded flatly. My mother looked at my slightly annoyed expression.

"We really are proud of you, Anna. We're proud that you want to do something with your life. We know you're going to do wonderful things, we just want to make sure you're safe is all."

I nodded once more.

Once we finally picked up Tina, it took us an hour and a half to make it to the airport. Once Tina made it inside the limo, my parents grew dead silent. Not that I'm complaining. This is what I've kind of been waiting for. It was quiet except for me and Tina having a conversation about when we land.

"I wonder if we'd see Beyonce walking on the streets of L.A." She chuckled.

"I highly doubt Beyonce is just going to be walking carelessly on the street."

We continued our conversation until we finally made it to the airport. The driver and my father got out the limo and helped me and Tina with our bags. Before I could even say anything else, my father and mother pulled me into an abrupt hug. By the way they held me, I can tell that this was genuine. I haven't had a hug like this in a long time. I loved it.

Once we all pulled away, I heard my father sniffle.

"We're going to be okay. I promise." I assured them.

My mother held onto Tina's shoulder. "We're trusting you two to be mature adults. If you need anything please call us."

Tina smiled, "We will, Mrs. Campbell."

My mother smiled and rubbed Tina's head. "Goodbye, girls."

Me and Tina looked at each other and smiled. Holding each other's hands, we both entered the airport.
