After getting started you should be advancing quickly to the new conflicts between characters, for once you have an idea you should run with it. Yes plan, but also have fun. You should write because you enjoy it or you were assigned by a teacher. Remember someone will read your story, so don't panic of by the first week you only have 3 reads. Just keep trying to get better. Conflicts can be easy to come up with but hard to put into words. Try asking someone to pretend fight and record it to see how a fight naturally folds out. Use descriptive words and phrases.
