When writing fiction you have to do two things first. One: Plan Two: Be devoted. The first step is always the hardest because you have to START something. Its much easier to take something and have fun with it, than sitting still thinking about names of characters. Every fiction author has been where you are right now. At the first step.
1a)PLANNING: When planing, I recommend a notebook or something you can carry around with you in case you get ideas during something important. (i.e school or work)
2a)PLOT: Why did you start writing? Did you have an idea ready? If so, jot it down so you don't forget it. If you don't its ok. To get inspired you can read others fiction to get an idea of what's out there. Sometimes when reading others works, I get so in to it I forget what I was doing. Don't fret if this happens, you will always get more ideas.
3a)CHARACTERS: Coming up with names for characters can be intimidating to say the least. If you find your stuck, go to the internet. Type in whatever country or region your character is from. (e.x: Top American names for girls) Having trouble explaining how they look? You can take to the internet too! Just search how they look like to you into Google images. (e.x: Short, brown haired American girl) If you can't find what your looking for, ask a friend who you believe can draw what you want.
1b) BEING DEVOTED: For everyone with a busy life, this will be the hardest part. Making time for writing. I suggest you start something new only after you finish a story. If you check my profile(fairytalecats) I have trouble doing that. If your life interacts with humans alot, try writing when there are the least humans (i.e: morning or late at night) Whatever you feel more comfortable doing. I'm not saying those are the only time to write but that's how I operate.
2b)BEING DEVOTED TO YOUR STORY: When writing chapters, try to set a goal of words and a date. Try to stick with your goal. It may be tedious, but it's well worth it. (e.x: 350 words every two make sure goal is reachable for you. Once you wright 350 words every two days, try going up with the amount of words. If you start at 350 go to 400.
I hope this helped you get started writing
