30 DECEMBER 2015 一
Standing amongst the fans in the crowded auditorium, Dahee suddenly regrets her decision. Her hands gripped the Army Bomb tightly, out of the fear of dropping it during the award show.
She overhears a few people chattering about the idol groups upcoming performances and she decides to listen in to a few conversations.
But of course, she didn't know any of the groups they were talking about apart from BTS. Dahee, for one, was never the person to be interested in K-Pop.
But when Taehyung first expressed his desire to be a Korean Idol, she didn't hesitate before fully supporting his dreams.
Of course, in order to give Taehyung her utmost support, she did a lot of research solely on the genre. But clearly, the groups that were popular then was widely different from the groups that were popular currently.
She sighs, propping her hands on the barricade as she waved her Army Bomb slowly in the air.
Soon, the lights dimmed, sending the fans into a frenzy. As the opening act started, Dahee realises how close she was to the stage.
She was elated to be able to see the idols perform at such close proximity but she was definitely more worried about Taehyung being able to see her. That was the last thing she wanted.
If Taehyung actually saw her - his reaction will never be good, no matter what.
Dahee considers the likeliness of Taehyung noticing her, and pictures various scenarios in her head.
If Taehyung saw her, but chooses to ignore her, Dahee would feel upset, obviously.
But if Taehyung acknowledges her, Dahee thinks that it might hurt more. That would just mean that Taehyung remembers her, and blatantly hurt her by ignoring the past messages.
After a lot of thinking and dreaming, the MC finally announces the upcoming acts - one of which was BTS.
The familiar tune of Dope fills the stadium before everyone around her began to scream. She waves her lightstick excitedly, cheering along with everyone else.
And then, he appears.
When Dahee sees him, she feels her heart beating in her chest heavily. It feels as though she was falling in love all over again.
Clad in a suit, Taehyung looked smart. Of course Dahee always knew that he was handsome. But maybe it was something about not seeing him in real life for 2 years that made him appear even more attractive.
With Dahee still in awe, she doesn't notice the 7 members approaching the edge of the stage initially. It was only until she hears an ear deafening scream that she snaps out of her thoughts.
Dahee snaps her head up, realising that they were now standing directly in front of the crowd.
Taehyung hasn't seen her yet - his focus was still mainly on the camera as they continued to perform their intense choreography on live television.
Dahee squirms in her own tiny little space, lowering her head slightly in the fear of Taehyung seeing her.
The performance soon comes to an end with Dahee mostly looking at the ground. The members were now standing in a straight line, giving their thanks when she notices Taehyung looking in her direction.
He waves cheerfully at the fans standing in her section. A small voice in her head constantly tells her to hide her face away from Taehyung but something else told her that she should try to make eye contact with the idol.
So, she fixes her gaze on the man before her wishes were answered.
When Taehyung's eyes first fall on her, she notices his face spiral into one of confusion. Then, his smile disappears and is replaced with a sad smile.
The group finishes bowing and Taehyung is the first to rush off the stage. Dahee knows that what was going to happen next can't be good for sure, hence, she squeezes through the fans, running to escape the auditorium.
"I need to get out!" She yells to the security guards who raised their eyebrows before reluctantly pulling the gates open.
She runs out of the loud stadium, before returning to the streets of Seoul. Outside, it was cold and the streets were quiet unlike the inside of the stadium.
Dahee was trying to flag down a taxi when a stinging pain hits her in the abdomen. She doubles over, knees landing on the ground as she clutches onto her stomach.
Wincing, she struggles to reach for her phone in the back pocket. She needs to call her sister.
Clenching tightly on to her article of clothing, she gasps desperately for air as she tried to hold the pain back. But she's never felt so much pain before and she isn't quite sure what she could do.
Eventually, she fails to reach for her phone in time and lies on the floor, helpless. She winces at the immense pain throbbing within her body before she begin to notice a few passerbys begin to crowd around her.
Her vision grows hazy and the last thing she sees surprises her the most - it was the sight of a worried-looking Taehyung hovering her.
