Four years ago, you were stuck in an orphanage with a bunch of other kids whom you couldn't remember. You remember absolutely none but Mikaela and Yuu since they were the only ones to leave deep impressions on you. When everything went to shit, you stuck to them like water to fur, mainly to Mikaela since Yuu would yell at you for being annoying. The night everyone made a run for it, only Yuu and yourself made it out thanks to Mikaela. Upon making it out, Yuu fell down and ran one way while you sprinted off in the other and survived on your own for four years. You never learned how to fight and you hated choosing sides. Often, times came when you had to stay with one for a little while before you had to leave before you got into any trouble. Vampires fed off you, and other humans used you like puppets. Today wasn't that different until you saw Mika... Your adorable, blonde, best friend Mikaela. You could almost jump and scream for joy he was alive, but you could see the glint across his teeth, that he had become one of them. His sharp teeth gave it away the minute your eyes connected with his. Yes, you were happy so you couldn't help the tears but there was another reason.
"You became one of them.." You muttered, causing his eyes to widen in fear. Did you hate him now? It wasn't like he wanted to be one; he had no true choice. Looking down and shadowing his eyes with his hair, he turned and was about to leave until he felt your hand reach out and grab his. Hearing your sudden sobs for him to stay caused him to quickly pull you into a hug and caress the back of your head. He took a moment to smile and nuzzle his nose into your hair; the familiar scent that never seemed to leave your body was so relaxing and calming. No longer were you the skinny, dependent child you used to be where you would hide behind other people. Now you were just the opposite, more muscle than just bone and skin. You had grown a lot since the last time he had seen you and he missed you so much; he had assumed you died a long time ago.
"I thought I'd never see you again," he whispered softly into your ear. You clutched the back of his uniform and cried into his shoulder. No longer did you fear or hate him, you were just glad to see him again. He was right before you in your own arms; he was really there!
"I'm so happy to see you Mika.." A soft smile graced your features as you carefully pulled back and used your hands to wipe away the tears on your face. Both of your minds and hearts were racing from happiness and excitement of knowing the other was okay. Mikaela hadn't even noticed what he had done when he suddenly felt himself slamming his lips upon yours in a passionate kiss, his hands gently cupping your cheeks while all you could do was place your hands over his and accept it. No one knew if this would be a mistake or a perfect step for the future.
