It was already going on 4:30am. This was usually the time 8 month pregnant, Louis Styles, would be fast asleep being cuddled by his husband, Harry. But tonight wasn't that kind of night.
The poor boy tossed and turned as their little girl kicked and wiggled inside him. He whimpered softly, some of the kicks painful. Silently praying that they'd stop long enough for him to sleep, Louis got up and walked around a little.
"Darling? What's the matter?" Harry mumbled, having felt Louis get out of bed and heard him walking around.
"Everything's fine, my love.. Bo's just being restless. Go back to sleep" he told him, rubbing his swollen belly as he paced the floor.
Harry smiled sleepily, peaking an eye open to look at his gorgeous husband. He sighed sadly, seeing how tired he was. "Come here beautiful, let me tell her a story so she'll maybe relax" he offered, opening his arms.
Hanging his head in defeat, he crawled back into Harry's warm embrace. His eyes were already welling up with tears, he was so exhausted.
"Now babe... No tears, everything will be alright" Harry promised, kissing the older boys eyelids. He wiggled down the bed, laying his head gently on Louis' bump. "Hello, my little angel.... Daddy's going to tell you a story if that's alright" he smiled, rubbing small circles under Louis' belly button with his thumb.
"Once upon a time, there was a gorgeous princess" he began, holding Louis close. "She lived in the most beautiful castle and had all the prettiest things... But she was lonely, having no company or anyone to call her own... Each day she'd give many of her belongings away to people who needed them, her heart breaking as those things were thrown right back in her face" he said, feeling the baby's kicks start to slow down.
"Then one day, a handsome prince came, asking if he could stop and use the restroom. He'd been out riding for so long and the village was to far away." He smirked, closing his eyes. "The princess eagerly agreed, loving to help people even though most of the time it hurt her in the process... The prince did what he had to do and before leaving, asked if he may return the next day to take the princess out to lunch."
"She happily agreed and the next day he did exactly what he said he would... This continued for months before the prince finally asked the princess to marry him.. She wouldn't be lonely anymore, having found someone that she loved dearly and someone that loved her back just as much... She was finally happy, and so was he.. The end" Harry said softly, already being able to hear Louis' light snores leave his slightly parted lips.
"Good night, honey" Harry whispered, kissing the bump. "Good night, my gorgeous princess" he smiled, kissing Louis' temple. He pulled the blanket over both of them, making sure Louis was comfortable before falling into a peaceful sleep.
