Everything was a blur as numerous doctors trailed into the room, running what felt like hundreds of tests on me. I felt like a rat under a microscope as a scientist did his dirty work for medicines or reactions from me, useless and weak. Who wouldn't feel that way though? With the given circumstances, I definitely was curious what was being done. My wish had been granted after about an hour or poking and prodding my skin with needles to hook the IV's up and scan over my state on a clipboard before leaving me alone in the plain room, smelling of disinfectant cleanser.

My gaze trailed towards the pale wall next to my bed, the lights flickering above as I shifted uncomfortably. I wanted to go home, find out what happened first but I still wanted to go home. Silence held the room as no one or thing moved an inch, everything still. A loud exasperated sigh of relief fled freely from my lips as an older male walked in hurriedly, Perrie trailing behind but staying near the door.

"Good evening, Mrs. Thirlwall," I stared blandly at the doctor, a warm smile resting on the corners of his lips in hopes for a smile returned. Nothing was given.

"I'm just going to skip the introduction and everything, I'll answer questions. Anything?" His clipboard was tucked beneath his arm, clasping his hands together with a curious expression. Did I have questions? Of course. But was I sure I wanted the answer? No.

"What happened? Like how did I end up here?" I murmured, fixing my stare on Perrie with a frown as she winced by my asking.

"Well, we aren't exactly sure what happened but presumably by your injuries we can say you're quite lucky you were found immediately. Though you only have a mild concussion and a broken leg, things should heal in no time." A bright smile was given, my annoyance heightening at the failed reply given. All the twat could do was simply smile and tell me how lucky I was, well I didn't want to hear how 'lucky' I am. I'd heard the same response too many times since the X-Factor, everyone gushing about how lucky I was to have made it this far but did they ever think of the downsides to it all? Nope.

"Well, gee. That was helpful. Any guesses of how this happened?" I finally acknowledged a cast had been uncomfortably placed around my left leg to help mend the bones, waving towards it with a scowl.

"All we know is you were attacked as you were off to your friends. I'm sorry I can't be much of help," I growled in frustration and crossed my arms over my chest, ignoring his apologies and goodbyes whilst exiting the small room. Perrie's feet could be heard as they shuffled, shifting uncomfortably.

"Do you know what happened, Pezz? Who found me?" Wide blue orbs locked on my face, her lips parting in surprise and hesitation to answer before she let out a breath.

"I found you." The three words knocked out part of my concern but much more was yet to be asked. Her gaze avoided mine, shifting awkwardly beneath my stare.

"How'd you find me?"

"Well, I heard someone screaming and panicked of course. Who wouldn't though? So I grabbed anything I could for defence and hurried outside to try and find the source," Her words paused as she built up enough courage to meet my eyes, "And...I saw a guy standing over someone, continuing to beat on the person. I shouted for him to stop and he ran so I dropped the tongs I'd grabbed, yes tongs, and ran over only to discover it was you."

She seemed to cringe as she spoke about the male beating on whoever the person had been, hesitating to force her words out. Everything going on and every noise made her wince violently and look around in a panicking manner as though she was afraid something would pop up. Something she was hiding clearly, the look on her face scared and worried. 'What is she hiding?' Perrie had always told me her secrets, from relationships to crushes, even her family and the past of how her parents split. Her life had been difficult so when she turned sixteen, she took the chance to audition for the X-Factor to start her life over. No one understood why shed wanted to do it at the time, but I did now.

"Are you okay?" Perrie's stare shot to me, her brows coming down making the crease appear between them, the urge to sponge kisses to the minor detail a major problem.

"Yes, why wouldn't I?" She snapped. I frowned in confusion of her sudden mood change, going from on edge and scared only to switch in a heart beat to snippy.

"Sorry, just askin'..." Perrie grumbled something to herself before faffing around impatiently, doing nothing to help me get out of this place.

"Do you know who it was?"

She shot out from the washroom, a glare consuming her beautifully flawless features as it trained intently on me.

"No, I don't. Don't ask me stupid questions," She spat, rolling her eyes. Her behaviour confused me how a simple question could be taken so seriously and answered in such a....rude tone. I raised my hands in surrender, wincing as the movement hurt my stomach a smidgen. I wanted to question farther but something about how she was acting indicated she knew something but it wasn't something she wanted to share so openly right now, clear to back off the subject and change it quickly.

"So, what're you doing today?" I cheerfully asked, smiling as I shifted to sit up. She glared at me once again and turned around, obviously suddenly in a bad mood.

"Mind your own business!" I watched as she dramatically stormed out of the room, slamming my room door shut to leave me in silence. My mouth fell agape in surprise of the outburst, unsure of what to say aloud to prove to myself mentally that the situation just happened but no words could be formed, too consumed in shock.

"Wow..."
