Emma’s POV:
I remained in the guest room for a while and tried processing things and tried deciding whether I was a fucking idiot for showing up- they had families, they had kids and houses and their own issues… What made me think they’d ever want to meet their half sister who was weird and purple and had a cat called Bendigo Misha?
These guys were famous, that was what my mom had meant when she’d called them ‘well off’. I’d come here thinking I had millionaire half brothers who’d be bachelors with nothing better to do then help out their lost cause of a half sister and I didn’t even think about their reactions toward the idea of their dad being with another woman… God I was a bitch.
I looked up from staring at the white carpet when I heard the door, at the door a little girl with dark hair in curly pony tails, a little blonde boy with wide hazel eyes and two red headed-brown eyed kids that looked like twins bunched at the door.
“This is supposed to be my little brother or sister’s room… Who are you?” The girl with dark hair asked, she sounded older than she looked. I looked round the room with pale yellow walls and noticed one of the boxes in the corner had the picture of a cradle on it.
“Oh… Uh, I’m… I’m Emma.” I mumbled, it was a bit unnerving when you had so many little, round eyes on you.
“Did you upset Mikey?” The blonde boy asked and narrowed his eyes a little and mine widened a little. Was this an interrogation?
“I think… A little…” I mumbled, why was I answering to little kids?
“Did you mean to upset uncle Mikey? And what about aunty Leda and uncle Gee?” The red head girl grilled and I bit my lip.
“No, I didn’t mean to… I was just being stupid.” I muttered and the red headed boy nodded.
“You sure got that right.” He said and even though he just agreed with me being stupid I smiled at his wise talk.
“… Okay, before you midgets ask any more questions it’s my turn. I want names and basic knowledge.” I said quickly.
Leda’s POV:
Gee and I sighed together with a nod, I doubted just as much as he did that Emma was joking about being his half sister. If she was the real deal than we couldn’t exclude her from the family, we needed to at least get to know her.
We held hands and left out room, we reached the door to the guest room and could hear people talking. We pushed the door opened a little to see Emma sitting in a circle with Percy, Pansy, Freddie and Taffy.
“I’m Taffeta, but I just get called Taffy because that’s a silly name. I like candy and mommy says I’m allergic to red cordial.” Taffy said and Emma tried not to laugh.
“-Hey, my mommy and daddy say we’re allergic to red cordial too!” Percy yelled and high-fived Taffy from across the little circle.
“So… You’re Taffy and your mom is Gerard’s wife?” Emma questioned, Taffy nodded.
“Yep, her name is Leda and she is fat because she is pregnant because her and daddy got jiggy as uncle Frankie says.” She gave a nod and Emma bit her lip and tried not to laugh but all of the kids giggled.
“What about you?” Emma asked Freddie.
“Uh… I’m Freddie… My mommy is Poppy and they all say Mikey is my dad but I only met him last week, I don’t think he likes me…” Freddie mumbled and Emma swallowed, Gee and I had to go in then, I needed to find some way to get Freddie to realise Mikey already loved him as a son.
We pushed the door open the whole way, “hey guys.” Gee said quietly and knelt down to hug Pansy and Taffy who were sitting next to one another.
I sat between Percy and Freddie with my legs crossed and Percy hugged my arm, “Emma, we believe you really are Gee and Mikey’s half sister… And that makes these guys your nieces and nephews, it also makes you family and makes this room yours for as long as you need it.” I mumbled and Emma looked thankful, Pansy jumped up and hugged Emma around the neck and she hugged her back.
“So, does everybody want to get to know each other?” Gee asked and everyone nodded.
“We sure do,” I heard Poppy say from the door and she had Mikey’s hand in hers, I smiled and they sat down before Wren and Frank were walking in followed by Maria and Ray.
Ray’s POV:
This was a huge shock for everyone, and I doubted Gee and Mikey would have handled it nearly as well if it wasn’t for the kids. We all sat in the little square room and it was sure to scare Emma a little with out big family, but if she wanted to be a part of it she needed to get used to it.
“-I’m from New York, so this is my first time out of the Big Apple.” Emma shrugged when Percy asked where she’d been before. We were letting the kids do most of the asking seem as how they could ask something and not get questioned about their reason.
Emma’s cat that was called Bendigo Misha had already made friends with Poppy, Wren, Frank and Maria and was now trying to eat Mikey’s shoes… What a cat.
“You know daddy says uncle Ray secretly gets a perm while he catches up on the latest gossip.” Pansy said with a shrug, it was totally off topic and totally false!
“Pansy, your dad has been to college more times than I’ve been to the hairdresser.” I shrugged.
“I didn’t even finish college?!” Frank said quickly and looked confused.
“Exactly bro, all natural and a home job too.” I shrugged and patted my own fro.
Leda turned to Emma, “Speaking of college… Why aren’t you at school or college?” Leda questioned.
Emma shrugged, “I am eighteen and school is finished for me now. Plus, I have no idea about what I’d study if I went to college.”
Everyone nodded at that, Gee and I were the only ones who’d actually been to college here. It wasn’t a big deal and we weren’t a lot who liked to judge.
