Dana's Point Of View

For my one month anniversary with my boyfriend Jay; we agreed on going out to dinner and maybe catching a movie afterwards. I'm surprised we were actually able to last a full month considering it has been chaotic. Jay normally wouldn't be the one you find in a relationship, well a committed one. We argue a lot because he doesn't understand a relationship consists of you and I, not you and I plus your sidelines. If we're together cut them off in my opinion. Not trying to be bitchy but there's no point of me being here when you talking to someone else.

"We should make it there in time the reservations are at seven and it's only six-fifteen," Jay said keeping his eyes focused on the road as his phone beeped. "Get that for me." I picked up his phone from the cup holder, and slid the notification screen down so I could see who it was. Apparently it was some girl, under the name of "Experiment 589". I wanna hear his lie for this. "So do you want me to read the message out load or say who it is?" I asked sitting the phone in my lap.

"Um, it doesn't matter shouldn't be anybody important at the moment," Jay said, and bit his bottom lip. It's attractive, yes, but that's how I know he's getting nervous. Always note the small things that they do before you catch them in a lie. "Okay, since you asked," I said flashing him a smile afterwords. "It's experiment five eighty-nine and she wants to know when you are gonna be done with that chick so you could come over and see her!" I yelled in a very hostile tone. I threw his phone in the backseat.

"It's not what you think," Jay said trying to cover up his bullshit. How can you say it's not what I think? Did he not hear me read that text message plus name out loud or did he go death in the pass five minutes. "What do you mean it's not what I think? I read the girl name and the text message so apparently it's what I think." I rolled my eyes, I don't wanna be near him and or see his lying ass at the moment.

"Okay you wanna know the truth?" Jay asked. Didn't I just say I wanted to know in the first place? "She just someone I hang around with cause sometimes you stay trying to argue with me and I don't be feeling that I should have to deal with you when you get that way," Jay explained in a nonchalant way. When is he gonna understand I complain because I care about him and want him to change? I don't do it cause I feel the need to do so.

"Cool, pull over though." He questioned my reasoning but the moment he pulled over I got my purse and got out his car. "Girl, if you don't get in this car," Jay said while getting out his car and slamming the door. "Or what? Talk to experiment chick take her out," I told him, as I started digging through my purse for the watch he wanted, I got it for him as a gift because I knew how bad he wanted it. "Maybe I will she probably isn't gonna complain like you." He started walking back towards his car. "Good for you, but know I'm done with you." He turned back around, "You won't ever find a nigga like me babe you gotta understand that." I threw his gift at him, "No, you aren't going to find another me. No matter how pussy whipped you get. Them girls aren't me." I flipped him off, he got in his car and pulled off then I sat down on the grass and called my girls to pick me up.

I got in the back next to Janelle, who was sitting in the middle, while Layla sat by the window on the right, Mona was driving, and Aaliyah was in the passenger seat. "What happened? Wasn't you supposed to go out to eat?" Aaliyah asked, we were turning around, going in the direction that would head back to her(Aaliyah) place. "Well, we was on our way there and he told me to check his phone and it was a text from some girl. Then we got into a fight I told him I was done, that's it." It wasn't much to tell to the story it was a simple break up. He's not understanding how I feel and at this point I'm not going to pursue this relationship and let him play me.

We all sat in Aaliyah's room, eating dinner together. "Girl you don't need him, so don't go crying later on when you go home," Layla said, flipping the channels on Aaliyah's tv. "I know I don't but I want him, I've gotten attached it's hard to let go sometimes." Will I cry over him anymore? Nah, but I will be sad about him later on though. "We gotta start playing the game a little better," Mona said, using her fork as a pointer.

"Girl, how?" Janelle said, she was stacking the plates up on top of each other, whoever was done that is. "Easy play the game the same way it's played by males. Only difference is they'll crack before we do," Mona commented then flipping her hair. I had checked the time and called my parents to let them know I was on my way home now.
