Chapter 2

Zoey's POV

It's been a few days since I last saw Cole. We had both been super busy since. Today I was packing for my flight to Orlando tomorrow morning and I had batting practice later tonight. I figured packing wouldn't take me so long so I'd asked my dad to take me to the cages. I usually just go to the field but it rained last night and everything was a mess. I pulled my blue suitcase out of my closet when my phone went off. It was Cole. I answered and placed my phone back onto my bed.

"Hello... Ceiling fan," Cole joked

"Haha really funny Cole." I said

I picked up the suit case and plopped it onto the bed. I opened it up and started throwing random tournament t shirts and running shorts in it. I grabbed my black nikes and put them in there as well.

"So you're packing?" He said

"Yeah wanna help? Just kidding I'm almost finished, listen I have bp tonight with my dad and I won't be able to talk until later, is that cool?"

"Yeah sure, I was gonna hang with J anyways."

I went to my bathroom and got the necessary things from my sink counter top. Next thing was both of my uniforms. I grabbed both and carefully placed them in. Once I knew everything was packed I zipped it up and took it downstairs for my dad to load into the car. I got back upstairs and grabbed my phone. I moved it so that way Cole could see my face.

"Ah there she is." He said

"Cute Cole." I said

"How long is your flight tomorrow?" He asked

"I think about 2 hours, but it's early so my mom and I can go and see Orlando before the first game. When do you guys go to Williamsport?" I asked

"Tomorrow I think."

"Oh good then we'll both be traveling. Is your first game tomorrow as well?" I ask

"No it's a few days after we get there. I think it's the day you come home."

"I hope I can make it." I say

"Yeah same."

"Well looks like I have to go. I'll talk to you before my flight?" I ask

"Yeah, I'll wake up early for you."

"Thanks Cole, see ya."

I ended the call and grabbed my stuff for bp.

I finished bp and headed home. I was sweating like crazy and desperately needed a shower. I texted Cole goodnight even though he was with Jaden. I'm pretty sure the only two people who know about Cole and I is Jaden, and Fiona, my best friend. But I'm not sure on Jaden, I assumed Cole would tell his best friend as well, right? He texted back a goodnight and I hopped in the shower. I got out, put on my Pj's and went to bed.

My alarm went off at 6 am, so I could get ready and head to the airport. I put on a pair of shorts I didn't pack and grey t shirt. I put on some elites and my grey nikes to match my shirt. I put my contacts in and braided my hair. I put on all three of my lokai bracelets and my mom ring. I got downstairs and grabbed a granola bar. Knowing I'd be hungry later I had another snack in my carry on. There was a knock at the door and seeing as I was the only one downstairs I got up and answered it. I opened the door to a tired Cole wearing mis matched shorts and shirt. He wasn't wearing his contacts, so he wore his glasses. He looked adorable.

"I came to say goodbye." He said

"I'm not leaving just yet, so come on in and rest." I replied opening the door so he could come in

"You know you really didn't have to do this." I said

"No I wanted to, it's no trouble." He smiled

We sat around on the couch, trying to keep each other awake as we waited for my parents to be ready. When I heard them call we got up from the couch and walked outside to the car.

"Well, I'll see you in a bit Cole." I said turning to him

He didn't reply, he just took me into his arms for a hug. I hugged him for quite a bit before my mom broke us up.

"Text me when you get off, okay?" He said

"Count on it. And have fun today Cole, I'll be fine in Florida and hopefully home in time for your first game." I said

"Okay, I will. Love you."

"Love you too Cole. I have to go now," I said

He nodded and I walked off to the car. I got in the back and he watched us back out of the driveway and drive down the road. I waved goodbye once more before he was out of sight. I turned around in my seat and plugged in my headphones so maybe I could finally get some sleep.
