I was on my way back home after a long weekend away. We had won the tournament, and a few of my team mates got scholarships to college. I didn't expect to get anything, seeing as I am too young to be scouted. I was on the plane listening to music, my excitement running through me as we approached the airport. Cole had no idea I was coming. He didn't think I'd be coming, and to be honest, neither did I. The plane had landed and I was off in a heartbeat. My mom went to get the luggage and I went to fix myself up in the bathroom. I wore my Red Land shirt, and a pair of running shorts. I fixed my straightened hair and my mascara. I met up with my mom shortly after and we searched for my dad's car. We quickly found it and got in so that way we would be at the game in time.

My parents dropped me off at the front, and I fought my way through the crowd to get into the stadium. It was too late for me to see Cole before the game, but I would be able to catch up after. I had the tickets in my hands and walked up to the stands. I looked around for Cole's parents, soon enough finding Mrs. Wagner wearing the same exact shirt as I was.
"Hi sweetie!" She waved as I approached
She took me into a hug. I hugged her back. Mrs. Wagner was like my second mother. She was always so kind to me. As a bonus, I got to hear tons of stories about Cole when he was younger. I sat next to her and we began to catch up.
"So how was it? Did you get scouted?" She asked excitedly
"No I'm way too young to be scouted, and we won the whole thing!" I told her
"Wow, that's amazing! I'm so happy for you. How have your parents been?"
"Good, I actually just got to catch up with my own dad as well, and he was having a rough time with the other two." I replied
Just then the announcer came on and we had to stand for the Star Spangled Banner. I took off my red hat and placed it over my heart as the song played on. As it came to a close I spotted Cole on the field. I watched him closely. I missed him, it was true. I was ready to have him hold me in his arms and kiss my cheek occasionally. I wanted all that back. The truth was, I would have to wait a few weeks until I finally got to have it all back. I think he had spotted us too, because it looked like he was squiring his eyes in our direction. Mrs. Wagner waved, and he waved back. I smiled and they took their positions on the field.

They had won the game. Cole played really well, and I was so happy. I clapped as the game came to a close and all the red land fans went wild.
"Zoey, honey, we're going to see Cole for a bit after the game, would you like to come?" She asked
"Yeah I'd like to see him." I smiled following her
"I'm sure he wants to see you too," she said
I smiled at her words, feeling my face flush. I followed her out of the diamond and stood around with her, looking for my parents. I thought I spotted them when two arms wrapped around my waist from behind.
"Cole!" I shouted turning around and hugging him
"I thought you weren't coming?" He asked when he let go
"I didn't either Cole but when I found out that I was I figured I'd surprise you."
"I'm glad you came. Come on, let's go."
We walked back to the dorms together where he put his stuff away. He came back out and we hung around the complex for awhile. Then something happened. Girls began to shout things at him. Nothing vulgar of course, but they all asked him to marry them and stuff like that. And he did something I didn't expect him to do. He grabbed my hand, and held on really tight. I gave him a look but he remained looking straight ahead. He pulled me along with him.
"Are you alright?" I asked
"Yeah I just don't like them yelling things when you're around." He said
"I know but Cole people will know..." I said
"Is that a problem?" He asked
"No it's just... I don't know forget it." I said
"Don't worry. It's not like I'm famous or anything." He said
"Not yet," I muttered
We continued to walk around until it got late, and I had to head home. I gave Cole a hug and he kissed my cheek. Just as usual. It made me happy. I pecked him on the lips before finally leaving. As I walked down the side of the road to where my parents parked, I realized, nothing would ever be the way it used to be after this is all said and done. I got into the car and plugged in my phone. My mom had sent me a message awhile ago. It was a picture of Cole and I hugging from today. I smiled at it and decided to post it to Instagram.
@zoey16: finally got to see him 😊❤️
My friends flooded my notifications. A few people I didn't know also came into my notifications. I gained followers quickly, and lots of girls left nice comments on my photos. Cole had liked it and commented. Then he decided to post the same picture, but his caption was a little different.
@colewagner22: She surprised me today, thank you so much for being there, love you. 😚❤️
He basically just threw our relationship out into the open. My friends went crazy, and so did a bunch of his 'fans'. I ignore everything, I was stunned. I didn't think Cole would just throw it out there. He didn't seem like the type to do that. But now it was out in the open, and we weren't prepared for what would come next.
