"Mommy!" Said Annie running to the barn.
"Hello Annie! Home for lunch?" Said Sarah Annie's mother.
"Yes I am! I have good news!" Said Annie Jumping up and down.
"Tell me princess." Said Sarah smiling.
"I got a part in the tv show! I won!" Said Annie climbing to the counter.
"Good for you! Where is it?" Said Sarah helping Annie up.
"It's in New York!" Said Annie.
"But sweetheart we live here not in New York." Said Sarah crossing her arms.
"Mommy! You wanted out of here! I'm eight. We can leave." said Annie looking in her moms eyes.
"Ok go to school and ace the producers heart. Ok?"
"Yes mommy. I'll be home after school."
"Ok Bye Annie!"
"Bye mommy!!" Said Annie running through the pasture.
Sarah watched Annie running through the pasture and stood there until Annie disappeared. Annie got to school just on time. She went into the gym and saw the producer. He was tall and skinny but strong. He was handsome and had some really nice clothes. Annie felt out of place with jeans and a checked shirt. She looked tiny. She stepped in and went to meet the producer. She came to the strong man and smiled. She held out her hand and opened her mouth to speak.
"Hi! I'm Analice Hope Consento. I am eight and was chosen for the tv show. My mom Okayed it. She is gonna move with me."
The producer looked down at her and smiled a million dollar smile. Annie wasnt fazed. She kept her hand out until the strong man took it and shook it firmly. He whispered to his assistant and the assistant walked away briskly. The man looked back down at the girl and started to speak.
"Hello Analice! I'm Cole. I am your manager. Can you take me to your home to meet your mommy?"
"Yes I can." Said annie smiling.
"Good."
"But call me annie. Everybody does." said annie stopping in her tracks.
"Got it Annie," said Cole smiling.
They arrived at their home about an hour later. Annie stopped and look at Cole who was already out of his jacket and sweating. He smiled at Annie and nodded at the baby blue house. Annie smiled and pointed out to the little white house and started speaking.
"Ok. That house is a storage house but we used to live it in. But grandpa made us the blue house before he died. The big red barn is where my mommy works. She cooks for many of the old people who can't cook anymore. Then, they pay her. That well. Is where I get water for mopping and cleaning. This is where I live."
Cole looked around and nodded. Annie smiled and opened the door. Cole stepped in. Annie then lead him to the kitchen where Sarah was cooking dinner. She turned around and looked at annie. Annie started talking.
"Mommy, this is Cole. He needed to meet you and also wanted to get to know me."
"Ok." Said sarah looking to cole. Sarah's face went pale when she saw his face. She sat down and took a drink of Orange Juice. She looked at Annie.
"Go wash up dinner will be ready. Annie, Make sure you pjs are clean please."
"yes Mommy," Said Annie skipping up the stairs.
Sarah watched her disappear and then looked back at Cole. She opened her mouth to speak.
"What are you doing here Cole?"
"I'm finding talent Sarah. Are you re-married? Annie is adorable if you are." Said Cole sitting down.
"No I'm not." said sarah looking at the table.
"Oh you're divorced?" Said Cole looking at her.
"No. Not unless you count yourself."
"Then who is Annie's daddy?" Said Cole Peering at Sarah's face.
"Yours Cole. Yours." Said Sarah looking at the table even more.
"What do you mean mine? You didn't have her when I was here." Said Cole lifting up Sarah's Face so he could look at it.
"I found out after you left. You changed your number, I couldn't tell you. There was no way. When Annie did come into my life I somewhat forgot. She had my heart she was my everything and Mrs.Young and my dad helped me." said sarah with tears running down her face.
"I'm sorry about your dad. Annie told me. He was a good man. Is Mrs. Young still alive?"
"Yes Cole. She lives two minutes from here." Said Sarah looking down at her lap.
"So Annie is my child? She was raised by your dad, mrs.young and you for eight years?"
"Yes Cole. We don't have internet. We only have what we need, Mrs. Young pays most of my bills. I'm only doing this for Annie. Or else I would stay here where I love it."
"I've gotta........go." said cole getting up and hurrying to the door. Sarah showed him out without another word.
