To D., wherever you are. For the times we tried to name all the stars, howled at the moon, came too close to the sun and lost our wings.
Dear reader,
Thank you for picking up this story. I hope you have as much fun reading it, as I had writing it. When I first wrote this story, I had a hard time picking the right genre and it ended up in Paranormal. It still feels as if this is not quite right, but I don't think there is a better-fitting place.
There are gods, goddesses, and mythological figures in this story, but I won't name them by their usual names. I think not all of them are that well-known, so here are some names and resources:
Frau Holle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frau_Holle
Norns: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norns
Witte Wieven: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witte_Wieven
Some of the character names are chosen for their meaning. Ava means breath, breathe, or life. David means beloved.
Warning: This story contains subjects like death, anxiety, drugs, substance abuse, and some romance. If any of this sets you off, this might not be the story for you.
