I woke up to someone lightly shaking me. "Clara." I heard Scott whisper. "Time for school."
I groaned and turned to my side. "Why?" I whined, pulling the covers over my head.
"You don't want to miss your first day at Beacon Hills High now do you?" I pulled the covers down to give him a look. "...okay don't answer that, but just get ready." He said before exiting the room.
I sighed and got up, silently dreading going into a new school with new people and new teachers and probably werewolves....lots and lots of werewolves. I rummaged through my bag that I had packed the day before and found an outfit. When I was ready I went downstairs cautiously and looked around the new house. I walked into the kitchen to Scott and his mother whispering nervously about something. Scott stopped when he heard me and turned around with a smile. "Ready?"
I nodded with a smile. "Yup." I said as we started heading towards the front door.
"No." Scott's mom said sternly. "Not without breakfast." He said handing each of us a poptart.
"Thank you." I said taking a bite out of it.
"Bye Mom." Scott said as we made our way outside. He walked up to this motorcycle in his driveway and got on it. He looked at me with a smirk. "Are you coming?" He asked, putting on his helmet.
"Uhhhh" I muttered, unsure of what to do.
"Aww come on they're not dangerous. Trust me." He said, saying the last phrase sincerely. I nodded and got on cautiously, never being on a motorcycle before I put on a helmet that he handed me and clung to his waist tightly. Scott started the engine and made his way down the street. I could tell that he was holding back his speed so that I wouldn't be scared.
I bit my lip before I nudged him with my shoulder. "How about a little speed McCall?" I said, knowing that his werewolf hearing could hear me over the engine. He answered by revving the engine and increasing his speed, flying past houses in a blur. We pulled into the school parking lot in what I imagine was record time and he cut the engine. I let out a laugh as I took off my helmet. "That was so awesome!" I exclaimed, loving the rush that it gave me. "Can we do that again?"
"Maybe later." Scott chuckled. "Right now we're going to bring you to the office to get settled in and then I have to find Stiles."
"For what?" I asked as we headed inside the building. The school was a little smaller than mine, and it didn't seem werewolf infested...at least not to the naked eye which made me feel a little better.
"I'll fill you in after. The only thing that you need to worry about now is finding out what your schedule is." He said hurriedly, which made me feel a little uneasy.
Scott brought me to the office and smiled at the secretary. "She's all yours." He said to her with a smile, as he gently pat my shoulder. "I'll see you later." He said to me. "You'll be fine." He whispered to me before heading down the hallway.
I turned to the secretary nervously and gave her an awkward smile. "Hi, I'm Clara..."Then stopped. Who was I here? Was I a Hale or was I a Mason? I went with the name that I was called for what seemed like my whole life. "Mason?" I said as more of a question.
"Oh, Miss. Mason it's nice to meet you I'm Mrs. Fields. It's not very often that we get new students later on in the semester, but we're glad to have you with us. Here is your schedule and locker number." She said handing me two sheets of paper. "And here are all of the books you are going to need for your classes." She said placing a huge stack of books on the counter; my arms hurt just looking at them. "Have a wonderful first day." She said with a smile.
