Wonwoo
It was showing hard. Harder than usual. But that didn't stop the lone figure standing next to an old grave with an umbrella. But ironically, the girl's silhouette was not under the umbrella, instead she held the umbrella over the grave as she let her body get covered up by the snowflakes.
The weather was terrible, no doubt about it. The graveyard was silent and empty other than the silhouette and the eerie sound of the howling of the wind devouring the silence. Occasionally, the thunder threatened over her head, like a predator, but it still didn't manage to catch her attention. Her attention was instead, elsewhere. Only she knew where.
While everyone was home, with warmth, and Christmas spirit, this individual was at this particular graveyard in front of this particular grave, with morbid thoughts about God and humanity.
Her clothes were no match for the cold and after a few hours, her fingers threatened to freeze but she was stubborn. She held the umbrella tightly while whispering over and over,
"Cassie caught cold really easily when it snowed."
Meanwhile on the other side was a boy who took three buses to get to her in the middle of this cold night. His cheek red from the cold he desperately searched for her as soon as he stepped off the bus.
"where are you jessi, please, please... " he muttered under his breath as he ran around the graveyard, passing rows and rows of snow covered graves, ignoring the fact that it was getting harder to breath or walk. Also he had a gut feeling that a snow storm was on it's way.
No no i need to find her soon, he thought.
He turned his head and finally noticed her silhouette and broke into a smile.
Found her!
He ran up to her and wrapped his arms around her from behind with a sigh of relief.
"why did you leave like that! I was so worried oh Jessi..."
At first she was so numb from the cold it slowed down her reaction time and so it took a while for her brain to register what was happening but she finally snapped out of it,
"w-won-woo?"
She turned around and saw a really worried Wonwoo.
"You stupid! I thought you did something to yourself! What the hell are you doing with that umbrella! You've almost become a snow man!" He complained brushing the piles of snow from her jacket...
He was going to take the umbrella but she resisted, Wonwoo gave her a stern look, they both gave each other looks until Jessi finally admitted defeat and handed the umbrella over to him.
He's right, she agreed with him about her foolishness.
Dead people can't catch colds.
He held the umbrella tightly over their heads and embraced her into a warm hug. He stroked her head with his other hand. She nuzzled closer to the warmth and closed her eyes.
"We need to get out of here soon, but I'll need to tell you some thing first. I read your diary,"
He felt her jerk in surprise, but he held her in place,
"—Don't talk. Just listen to me first. I know what you went through. I know now why you treated me the way you did in the beginning. I know now why your attitude was that way towards depression. Everything is clear to me now. I know why you're scared to be in a serious relationship with me. I know what you did. I know what you think of yourself and I know what you're afraid of. Jessi, you don't have to do anything you don't want to. You're amazing, you're strong even if you don't think so yourself. You survived all that, you're my wonder woman. When I first got to know you, you know what I thought? Dang, I wish I was like her. When I started dating you, you changed my world, I'm not joking.
Please, trust me. No matter what it is, you can tell me. If you don't like me that way, we don't have to date. It's all about you, Jessi. Just let me be in your life like you've been there for me. I'm not going to leave you. I'm not going to betray you. I know what you are and what you did. I like you just the way you are. And I was wanted to say, It's okay. It's going to be okay. You're a survivor."
That was it. That was all she needed to hear before she burst into tears. It ran down her frozen cheeks as she wailed to her heart's content. And Wonwoo only held her closer. He understood that she had been keeping all these tears since the day her sister died and it would take awhile to catch up.
His hands lightly petted her back and she continued shedding three years worth of tears.
And when it was all done, she felt light as a feather.
She broke the embrace and looked up to the smiling face of Wonwoo.
"Feel better?" He asked.
She smiled back before slamming her frozen lips on his. He stood shocked but a while later she could feel smiling into the kiss. He kissed back but a second later she pulled away.
As she pulled away Wonwoo burst out laughing.
She frowned, "Was my kiss funny to you?"
"No no" he laughed, "It's just that I realized our first kiss was at a graveyard."
She smiled and said cheekily,
"Well that's jessi for ya."THE END.
