Jenny's POV
The day that we've been waiting for is happening this day, our high school graduation. And also I am late again.
"Jenny! You're pretty now! You've been staring at the mirror for 15 minutes. Are you still not satisfied?"
"But grandpa... I..." I looked at my face again and still not sure if I'm going to put on a lipstick or not.
"Come down here now, Jenny. Your teacher just called and the ceremony's about to start in a few." Alright! I give up. Red lipstick! Pak! Done!
My routine won't change after all. I don't know if it's me or girls really do this kind of stuff. Guys usually complain why we girls are too slow to take a bath, to dress up or observe our physical appearance at the mirror.
We can't blame them. They are really impatient and idiot sometimes.
I went downstairs to meet my grandpa. I was about to get out through the door when he stop me. "Jenny? Photo first."
My grandpa is my love of my life. He yells at me sometimes but I can't tell if his sincere that his disciplining me, or his just acting one.
Since I was a kid, he raised me alone and he really did well. I want to thank him somehow, so I did my best throughout my high school years.
I went quickly to where he is standing and took a quick picture then after that he made me face him, held both my shoulders, tight.
"You know, this is your day. So as you do your valedictorian speech, I want you to speak your heart out. Okay?"
I nodded and we both fist bump. "If only your parents are still here, they will be so proud of you."
The picture of my mom and dad came flashing back in my mind; the memories with them and also the accident. If only they survive too, this day will be happier.
But it's already done.
I have to accept that they're gone and I should be thankful that I survived so that I can take care of my grandpa.
"Let's go! Break a leg aye?" I gave him a hug and we went straight to school.

"This is not a goodbye. This is a new journey. Don't forget the people you met and will be meeting along the way. Dream on and be confident. Be strong to face our new chapter with a smile on our faces. Never doubt yourself, just believe what your heart says. That's all I have to say. Congratulations to all of us!"
I took a deep breath and removed my toga from my head. I tossed it and stare at the others as they tossed it too. I smiled and search for my grandpa in the crowd. I ran quickly at the sight of him and gave him a very tight hug.
"Congratulations, kiddo." My grandpa's presence is enough now. Just seeing him makes me feel comfortable.
"You know I'm not a kid anymore grandpa. I'm a grown up now." I said, mocking him.
We just laughed it along. "Okay. Where do you want to eat?" He asked me. I'm hungry but I guess I have to go there first.
We arrived after a few minutes and went straight to them. I let out the candles that I brought and lit it between them. I removed my medal around me and lift it up.
"Look mom, dad. I did it." I said as I look at the medals then to them.
"You don't have to worry about me. Grandpa really did a great job taking care of me for 6 years. Except for the time when he let me fall down as I was trying to balance my bicycle he bought for me on my 12th birthday. Believe it or not he even laughs at me while I was crying. He's just so evil, right?" I whispered the last part and glanced at my grandpa who was laughing, weirdly.
