The nauseating smell of disinfectant spray was beginning to piss me off. I hated hospitals. They crept me the hell out. I mean, they had sick people upstairs and then downstairs lie the dead? That's just fucked up.
We'd been here for a little over three hours. The fight with the Weres lasted longer than was expected. Dad wasn't pleased with that. Add on the fact that Deni had a seizure and went unconscious during a fight with a Were. Oddly enough, Jordan seemed a bit put off. I don't know what his problem was but I didn't dwell on it for too long. I was too busy trying to kill the one that I was fighting in order to get to Deni before the massive beast that loomed over her struck out.
I threw my black hilted silver dagger and made contact with his aorta. Thank Goddess I have a great aim or shit would have went down.
A soft sound of a door opening woke me from my thoughts. Deni's doctor, a young very cute man by the name of Rick Stevens, was exiting her room. He looked over at the four of us hanging outside her room up against the walls.
"I assume you are here for Aden Delgadillo?" he asked, in his smooth rich voice. Hey! Give me a break. Deni would be just fine, she's a trooper, but Dr. Stevens had the voice of an Adonis and the looks to go with it.
"Nah shit Sherlock," I replied sarcastically. And that's why I've never had a boyfriend. I blame it on my sarcastic remarks. My dad shot me a look while Dr. Stevens gave a light chuckle and smirked in my direction. He so wants the V.
"Yes, well. Deni will be just fine. She has a minor concussion and will need to be placed on medication. She will be prescribed 100-mg of Dilantin. Her seizures are one of what we doctors like to call 'partial seizures' so the Dilantin shall help whenever they occur. I advise you to keep her from any stress inducing activities since that seems to be what is causing her outbreaks. As for how long she will be here," he paused and looked over her chart. "I would say about a day. Tomorrow she can go home if her vitals are looking well."
"Oh thank God," said my dad letting out a relieved sigh. Of course daddy's precious baby is going to be just fine. Oh bite me!
"You can all go in if you want. She has to stay up for a while so please engage in conversations that will keep her awake and less stressed," he said looking at each of us. His eyes stayed on me a little longer than they should have. He gave my dad and the other two men a smile yet smirked in my direction before walking off down the hall. Dr. Rick so wants the V!
"You guys go on in. I'm going to go to the bathroom," I said to them before walking in the same direction as Dr. McSexy. I didn't look back to see if they went in her room before turning the corner. I found Dr. Rick standing at the nurses station.
"Dr. Rick?" I asked tapping on his shoulder. "I was wondering if you could check something out for me. I have this thing on my stomach. Do you mind giving me your expert opinion of it?"
He looked at me with a smirk before nodding. "I'm sure I can help you out with that." He turned around and motioned for me to follow him. We were about two halls away from Deni's room and one away from the Nurses Station. It would do. I just needed to ask a few questions of my own.
He motioned for me to sit down on the hospital bed. His eyes raked over my body before he began to talk. "So, lets see this 'thing'."
I lifted my shirt so he could get a good glance of my stomach. I wasn't lying when I said I had a thing on my stomach. There was a huge bruise that was turning between the colors of gray and purple. His eyes widened in shock. Fucking pervert. Like I would actually go for someone almost in their thirties. I might not be a virgin or ever had a real boyfriend, but I'm not a slut.
"Shit," he whispered to himself. "You weren't lying about that!"
"Uh, of course not! Why would I lie?" I asked innocently. I loved yanking peoples chains plus I had a feeling Dr. Rick knew much more about the Were attack. When we came in and Deni was taken into the ER, covered in Were blood, but Dr. Rick didn't seem so shocked to see all the scratches she was donning. All the nurses were shocked to say the least but Rick seemed unfazed. Almost like he was used to it.
