Four weeks later...
The rogues never came back. I never saw them again and I started to think that I did imagine them. But they were there. I know they were.
Dennis left this morning to go check on the Silver Moon Pack. He said that their Alpha found his mate and he wanted Dennis to come see her. They said she was a lone wolf for a while.
I went downstairs and I got some bows from some of the pack members. I smiled and winced. I had a deep cut in the middle of my bottom lip.
Nobody asks me if I'm okay. I'm guessing Dennis didn't want any of the pack members talking to me. And the other guess is that they just don't like me.
I had a craving for a grill cheese with a side of fries. I never had craving like this before but who cares. I made my lunch and ate it like it was the best thing on Earth.
Afterwards, I washed my plate and headed upstairs. My stomach started making these disgusting noises. Embarrassed, I went on the computer to play pinball.
I got frustrated when I didn't win any rounds and I turned it off. I smelled the dinner for the pack downstairs. It smelled like....fish.
My stomach rebelled at the smell and I headed for the bathroom. I puked for such a long time. I had no energy left in me afterwards, so I sat on the carpeted floor. God, all of that vomiting made my head hurt. A while later, I carefully stood up and washed my mouth. After it was clean, I laid down in my bed and slept.
I woke up sometime later to a knock on the door.
"Come in," I said, my voice hoarse.
In came my little sister, Leah. I never did see her without a smile. She somehow was always in a good mood. That's what I love about her.
"Hey, Marie! How are you?'' she asked.
"I'm good. Although I did catch the flu."
"Oh, I'm sorry. Would you like me to go get you some medicine from the pharmacy?"
"No, thank you. I will go get the medicine if it gets worse."
"Did you eat something different today?"
"Well I did get a weird craving for a grill cheese sandwich and French fries today."
"Have you eaten that before?''
"No. But I'm fine Leah, don't worry."
"Alright, then. I have some good news, though! One of our pack members, Tiffany, is pregnant! Yay! I'm so happy for her."
"Well, tell her congrats for me when you see her."
"Why don't you tell her yourself?"
"Come on, Leah. You know no one from the pack likes me."
"Yes, they do! You're their Luna. They just don't talk to you after what you...did."
"Whatever. Now, is there any other news I need to know about?"
"No, I just came to tell you that."
After that, she left. I sighed. I was so tired. A little nap wouldn't hurt. I looked at the clock and saw that it was almost dinner time. I groaned. Some one will have to come in and tell me dinner is ready. I didn't care; I cuddled under my covers until a thought hit me.
That girl Tiffany is pregnant! I threw up this morning! And Dennis hasn't used protection! It all adds up. I can be pregnant!
I rushed to the bathroom and went in the medicine cabinet to get my hidden pregnancy test. I was about to open it when I second guessed myself.
'What if I'm just doing crazy and I'm not pregnant at all!' I said in my head.
I put the pregnancy test back in the cabinet. I'm not pregnant. I probably do have the flu. Wait, but what if I am pregnant? No, no. I'm not pregnant. I needed to stop worrying about that.
I hid the test right before Dennis came in the bathroom. He had a confused look on his face as he saw my hand in the medicine cabinet.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"I'm sick. I-I-I'm just getting some medicine." He turned around before I could even finish. He obviously didn't care.
I sighed and got a random medicine bottle to make it look real. I fake drank it and poured some in the sink.
"Are you coming down to dinner?" he asked.
"U-Uh yeah. Yeah, I'll be down in a second."
Dennis left the bathroom and I sighed. Thank goodness, he didn't ask anymore questions.
I went downstairs to see all of the pack at the long table eating fish sticks and bread. I took my seat next to Dennis and I grabbed a small piece of bread. I didn't want to throw up again.
Into the dinner, I ate sufficiently. The other pack members were talking amongst themselves. Then, out of no where, Dennis throws his glass of coke at me. I jump as some of the coke falls on me.
"What the-"
"You are coming with me," was all he said before I was thrown into our bedroom.
"Who are you with?" he asked gently.
"What are you talking about-"
"You know exactly what I'm talking about. You're cheating on me!" he yelled.
"No! No, I'm not!"
"Then why do I smell another scent on you? It doesn't smell like any of our pack members. It's stuck on you and I can smell it very easily."
What smell? I don't know what the hell he is talking about.
"Smell me. I've been with no one."
Then all of a sudden, he became quiet. I saw him run a hand through his hair. He put his face in his hands as he sat on the bed.
"If it's not a pack member.....then you must be....pregnant? Are you?" he asked, his back to me.
"Um, I thought I was this morning. I was going to take a test when you came in. Now, I think I really am pregnant because you can smell it's scent."
I saw the muscles bunch through his t-shirt. He stood up and he went to one of his drawers. He pulled out something that I couldn't see. Before I could ask, he got down on one knee and pulled out a black velvet box. The box held a beautiful ring that held one simple, small diamond.
I looked up at him and hoped he wasn't joking. His face looked serious, but he didn't look mad.
"Marie Elizabeth Chalice, I know I haven't been a good mate to you. But secretly, I love you all my heart. There, I said it. I love you, Marie. I'm sorry for everything I've done. I promise I'll make it up for you and our child. Will you marry me?"
I started crying, but in tears of joy. He loves me. Dennis loves me!
"Yes!" I answered.
I saw Dennis smile and he picked me up and kissed me. This kiss was different. He didn't do it forcefully, he was gentle and loving.
When he was done, he put me down and slid the ring on me. I smiled and hugged him.
"I love you," I said to him.
Dennis smiled and kissed my lips again.
"I love you, too," he said.
