~Cinder’s POV~

“After a long and difficult discusion, we have decided that it’s your turn, my little dove,” sneered the Lab Coat. I’ve heard the other Lab Coats call him Dr. Sinclair, but we just call him ‘Ol Mustachio. I was one of his first experimiments that actually survived the drug that he created. He’s taken a special interest in me ever since . . . I find it rather creepy.

“What are you going to screw up this time? You’ve already covered three senses, sight, speech, and hearing. What’s next, smell?” I was already standing up in my cage, ignoring the soreness in my legs.

“Hmm, not quite. You are special my dear,” his voice sent shivers down my spine. Oh, how I’d love to tear that smug grin off his face. It’s a shame that the bars of this cage were in the way. He walked closer to my cage with two Erasers following close behind him. He put the key in the lock and opened the door to my cage. I was about to jump out and whoop this guy’s ass, but one of the Erasers lunged at me and had its giant hairy claw clenched around my neck. He lifted me out of my cell and held me up.

“Cinder!” I heard the others yell. I looked down and noticed Hail was ramming himself against the cell door. Oh yea, did I forget to mention that he has an anger issue? Yeah, we don’t really know why, but the quiet and sweet angel whom we all know as Hail can lose it, quite easily I may add. His eyes are so white that when he gets angry, they change to a violent red. He’s extremely close to Solstice and the day that they took her for experimenting . . . let’s just say that we didn’t recognize him as the Hail we all know.

“Now, now, no reason to work up such a fuss. Cain, mind doing the honors?” he nodded to the other Eraser and he growled. He loaded up a gun with a small dart. He shot it, hitting Hail in the shoulder, after a few seconds, his eyes reverted back to white and he calmed down. “Now that that’s done, come now,” said ‘Ol Mustachio. The Erasers began to chuckle on their way out with the other Lab Coats. The Eraser holding me slammed me into the ground and began dragging me by the neck line of my scrubs.

Before we exited the large room, I saw the look on everyone’s faces. Chai and Patch were staring after me, tears welling up in their eyes. Solstice, even though her eyes were closed, her head was pointed in the direction of the door. Hail was trying his best to stay awake but the tranqulizer was working its effects. Specter had no expression . . . in fact, he hadnt moved a muscle. Good, as second in command, he needs to keep his cool . . . though sometimes I wish he werent such an emotionless jerk.

~Spector’s POV~

I felt helpless as they dragged her away. As the leader in the small group of freaks, she found it to be her responsibilty to shoulder everything. No matter how hard I tried to talk her out of it, she wouldn’t listen. She’s say that in order for this plan to work, someone would have to be the bait and she didn’t want any of the others to be the bait. Whatever, she can take care of herself so I shouldn’t get worked up over it.

Once they were gone and the darkness returned to the room, Solstice opened her eyes. Ah, our own flashlight.

“Think she’ll be ok?” she asked. I chuckled at her comment and stood up, stretching my arms out in front of me.

“Come on, this is Cinder we’re talking about. You really think that she’ll let us down?” the others remained quiet for a moment then stood up in their cages. I looked over to Hail only to see him still on his knees. “Yo, Hail. You alright?”

“Yeah, somewhat. The tranq only knicked my shoulder, but I’m fine,” he looked up and smiled, “So, we go with the plan or what?”

“Yeah. Hey, Solctice? Any cameras?” I called over to our little flashlight. She turned around again and again, searching every knook and cranny of thie God forsaken room. After a moment of waiting, she turned back to us and shook her head.
