I received an SMS. It was my mum. 'Toby!! It is already 1pm! Why are you not home yet?!'

'I'm sorry mum. My friend Janine is dead so my friends and I are at her house now.'

'What?! OK..take your time. Give my condolences to Mrs Jee..' replied mum.

"Mrs Jee, my mum gives you her condolences," I said.

"psstt.. psstt.. Toby!" it was Ashley. "Can we go now? My parents are calling me!"

"Tell them that your friend is dead and stuff..they will understand. I just told my mum about it too."

I saw Carol doing the same thing as well. They signaled to me that their parents understand as well.

Mrs Jee and I went over to where Mr Jee and my friends were sitting. "Gerald..what should we do?" sobbed Mrs Jee. Carol passed Mr Jee the name card.

"Mr Jee, please call this number. The company is willing to pay for everything."

"Everything?! Can the company pay us back our Janine?! " bellowed Mr Jee in agony.

"Gerald...it was not the company's fault. It was Janine who took it upon herself. Toby had already warned her not to but she turned a blind ear to it," said Mrs Jee calmly.

Everyone of us looked at Janine's body. She had her eyes closed,lips turned slightly upwards. "Look,Gerald. Janine is resting in peace. Look at her lips. See that slight curve?" Mrs Jee said, attempting to be happy as she sobbed.

Carol and Ashley eye gestured to me t tell Janine's parents that we would like to leave-now. I nodded.

"Uhm.. Mr Jee,Mrs Jee, again we give you our condolences. We have to leave now or our parents would be worrying..We will visit you again some other day," I said.

"Oh of course you girls can leave now. Thank you so much for keeping us company and comforting us. Yes,your parents will be worried. Go along now. Erm.. Toby,is it? I will contact you to let you know when is Janine's funeral. Then you can pass the message to Carol and Ashley. May I have your number?" said Mrs Jee.

"Sure." I gave Mrs Jee my number.

We left Janine's apartment and went home in our routes respectively.
