The moment I reached home,I was surprised to see all of my family members at home waiting for me, even my eldest sister, Tammy, who was supposed to be in England to study for her doctor's degree.

"Toby, was it true? That Janine died? How?" Tammy queried. Janine was Tammy's favourite junior in tertiary school before Tammy graduated and left for university.

I nodded solemnly. I saw the expressions of my parents and siblings, shocked and sad. "Janine..she insisted on swimming in the river at night when I warned her not to. We did not expect that there would be a rapid current and I was about to toss the rope at Janine for her to grab when the twig she was grabbing onto snapped into two..." I stopped. My family knew the outcome.

"Our condolences, Toby," mum said in behalf of herself and the rest of my family. "Janine has always been a good and obedient girl whenever she stayed over at our house."

"Toby... Toby...wake up! What were your doing?!" a voice shouted into my ears.

I woke up with a fright. It was Tommy,my elder brother.

"Bro! Why did you scare me like that?!"

"I saw you sitting on a chair by your bedroom reading a book. Then you fell asleep in the midst of reading it. It was hours before I came to wake you up. I see that you were reading a book about the MacRichie Reservoir. Still thinking about Janine?"

"Err..." I stammered.
