"Dinner was wonderful as always, Preston." I said reaching for his hand across the beautiful set table.
"Only the best for you my love," Preston leaned over and placed a light kiss on my lips.
Spontaneous romantic moments like this, is how I found myself falling in love with him. He's kind-hearted, passionate and generous; a complete opposite of Tyler's selfish ass. I couldn't even pay Tyler to spend quality time at home with the children and I. Ten years of marriage, and it's as if we don't exist to Tyler anymore. Thinking of Tyler's trifling behind was starting to make me upset and I didn't want to ruin my beautiful evening.
Before I could refocus my attention back on the evening at hand, Preston already picked up that something was bothering me.
"Is everything alright, Carla? You seem troubled tonight." Preston asked as he brushed a stray hair aside my face.
"Of Course! Everything is perfect, Preston. How could it be anything less when I'm with you." I said reassuringly grabbing his hand mid-stroke, placing a soft kiss on the back of his hand.
"If you say so, my love. I'll get ready to bring the finisher out." he smiled and returned my previous gesture.
I gazed at Preston as he cleared the table for dessert. He was simply gorgeous. Standing at 5'10, his slender yet muscular build, perfectly slicked back hair, naturally toffee colored skin and turquoise colored eyes. His beautiful eyes often reminded me of a trip we took to the Caribbean's, where the waters were the same beautiful greenish blue. With his boyish good looks and witty charm, Preston could easily be mistaken for a jock but that couldn't be further from the truth. Preston became the youngest Partner to date at the age of twenty-seven for Jefferson & Sons, a major law firm in our hometown.
In a different life, other than the current hell I lived; Preston would've been my dream man. When sitting back and comparing the two men, I don't know how I could've married a man like Tyler. I mean sure, Tyler was handsome, intelligent and wealthy but he had two major flaws; his constant infidelities and lack the of intimacy because of his cheating ways. When Tyler and I first became involved, he was a sexaholic; he couldn't keep his hands off me! But, I noticed our once fiery hot love making sessions simmered down after I had our second child, Brandon.
Before I knew it, our steamy nights soon became cold distant memories. Now, the only thing keeping my bed warm at night were our fifteen-month-old twin girls; Brandy and Monica. Preston's sudden appearance snapped me out of another unpleasant stroll down memory lane. I don't know what was going on tonight, Tyler was heavy in my thoughts. Which was unusual because I rarely thought about him especially when I was out with Preston. I decided that I'd call later to check on him and the children. But, as of right now I was going to dig into this scrumptious looking dessert; a slice of triple chocolate cake drowned in hot fudge and a small bowl of vanilla ice cream.
My fork hit the bottom of the plate as I cut a small portion to eat. My mouth instantly began to water as the piece of cake did a joyful dance with my taste buds.
"Preston! hmmm! This cake is delicious! It's so moist. It just melts right in my mouth," I said savoring the delectable treat.
"I hope the cake isn't the only thing melting in your mouth tonight," he said with a sly grin.
"Oh! you're so fresh" I seductively strolled over to his lap and straddled him.
"You love it though," he said confidently as he locked lips with me in a passionate embrace.
I hungrily accepted his warm tongue as our tongues danced to their own tune. I began to tug at the buttons on his shirt when his large masculine hands engulfed mines and started pulling them away.
