Vince’s POV;
When school let out, I leaned against Dylan’s red mini cooper and waited. I saw she and Frankie walk out the building, and when he eyes met mine my heart skipped not a beat, but three. I loved the way this girl made me feel. She was hard to get but so close in my grasp. The only girl I’ve ever tried hard for, the only girl I actually want. I’m huge on challenges. “Hey beautiful.” I said.
Frankie smiled and faked a blush, “Aw Vince, you’re so sweet.”
Dylan laughed and pushed him to the side. “Hey Vince, what’re you doing out here? Don’t tell me you actually quit the team!” She punched my arm.
I laughed and looked towards the field. “Yeah, I went in to tell the Coach I was done, but he bribed me with a day off of practice and 1st string.”
“That’s amazing, I’m gonna need your jersey number so I can add it onto my high school fantasy football league.”
“Ah, I’m good enough to be on your team?”
“Maybe.” She bit her lip, “But that still doesn’t explain why you’re here.”
“God, you’re stupid Dylan, he wants to take you out.” Frankie exasperated, hopping into his Land Rover.
“Wait, really?” She said, those big brown eyes looking up at me.
“Yeah, I actually do. I mean, if that’s okay with you.”
She giggled, “It’s fine with me. Did you ask my brother first?”
My smiled dropped. God, was I really that stupid? Of course I should’ve asked her brother, I mean, I didn’t know I had to but, still. “Oh, well, you wait here and I’ll go ask him.”
I made my way back towards the school when Dylan grabbed my arm, laughing. “You don’t have to ask my brother, silly. I can make my own decisions.” She reeled me back in and I let her. I pushed her back against her Mini and smiled.
I leaned down a bit when Frankie honked his horn and yelled, “Hey you two love birds, no kissing on the first date. Take care of my best friend Vincent.” Before pulling out of the parking lot.
Ryan’s POV;
I watched them get so close together and Vince about to make his move when Frankie honked the horn separating the two. I can’t tell you how thankful I was that, I didn’t have to charge out the school and beat that kid to a pulp. Rookie wasn’t so rookie anymore, considering Coach made him 1st string and was gonna give Justin and I extra laps to run. I was passed angry with this kid, I was furious. I looked at Justin next to me, wanting to do something but he just stood there. I could read the hurt playing in his eyes. I looked back at the two and watched them both hop in Dylan’s car, and speed off. I took a step back from the door and walked back out towards the gym, Justin close on my heels. “Who does he think he is?”
“He likes her, of course he’s gonna be rebellious.” Justin muttered.
“Well, we need to do something about it.”
“Like what? You know Dylan as well as I do, and she won’t take no for an answer. Plus, I told her that I was gonna back off, I promised her infact.”
“You made that bullshit promise not me.”
Justin pulled me back, “She was right Ryan, just chill out.”
“No, I want someone good for her, not Vince, not someone who could break her heart!”
“So you’re just going to control her life for god knows how long then? Besides, you don’t even know Vince, how do we know if he’s bad or not?”
