Tobias' POV:

My Tris just went unconscious. This is scaring the shit out of me. Tears are pouring down my cheeks.

"What's happening?" I ask Natalie again.

She takes a blood sample and tests it quick.

"We have to get her to a hospital."

"What? Why?" I'm worried.

"The drug that the President gave her to kill the baby didn't allow her placenta to detach, hence the reason she's still in pain. The placenta is trying to detach but it can't. The President obviously did this on purpose, hoping that the pain would kill her, or the amount of blood that she would lose. He didn't expect either of you to get out, especially so soon after she had the miscarriage. But now it's killing her. We have to get her to the hospital so we can take out the placenta before she bleeds to death. She is still bleeding and I know she probably already lost a lot of blood when the baby died."

"But there isn't a hospital in District Twelve." Andrew informs.

"How long will it take to get to District Eleven?" Natalie asks Tori.

"A couple of hours by train. And the train is still at the station. I can ask it to go to District Eleven for us. They'd do anything for a victor."

"Okay. I'm going to give her a blood transfusion and we'll get her there whilst it is at work. That means she'll be gaining blood whilst losing it. It will give us more time. Let me set it up and then we'll go."

She sets up a blood transfusion in Tris' arm and asks me to pick her up and carry her to the train. And I do. When we get there I take her to the room we shared on the way back and gently lay her in the bed, covering her up. Natalie is with me as she carries the bag of blood. Tori, Amar, Portia and Bud have gone to speak to the train driver about taking us to District Eleven. But Tris' family, minus Caleb, and our friends are here. In the room with us. I lay down next to Tris, on my side so I can look at her beautiful sleeping form. Hoping she is going to be okay. That she's going to make it.

Natalie hangs the bag of blood on a coat hook and everyone sits down, some on the floor, some on the chair under the window, and some on the large bed with us. Rose, Natalie and Andrew join us on the bed as the train starts to move. Tori, Amar, Bud and Portia join us and sit on the floor.

We have been moving for about an hour when Tris starts to stir and her beautiful blue-grey eyes flutter open. I am the first thing she looks at.

"Tobias. What's happening? Where am I? Why does it hurt?" Just hearing her, and seeing her, in pain makes tears fill my eyes. Natalie explains to her what's going on. Tris starts to cry at some point and I wrap her in my arms gently, trying not to move her too much.

She falls back to sleep just as the train comes to a stop in District Eleven. I pick her back up and carry her all the way to the hospital, which is only a five minute walk from the station. Natalie rushes over to the reception desk and speaks to them about god knows what.

Then she leads us to an operating theatre, she tells the others to wait outside and I carry Tris into the room, laying her down on the operating table. There are a bunch of nurses, including Natalie, getting ready to operate on her.

I kiss Tris on the forehead gently.

"I love you, Tris, more than anything. Please, stay with me."

I am about to leave the room when Natalie stops me.

"Tobias, you can stay in here if you want. Just get into some scrubs. She needs you."

I nod and thank her before getting into some scrubs and sitting in the wooden chair next to the table.

I hold Tris' hand the whole time. As they put her into a sleep where she won't feel anything. As put a cannula in her nose and they operate on her. I don't take my eyes off her beautiful face. The beautiful face of the girl I love more than anything in this whole world. The girl I want to spend the rest of my life with. The girl I want to marry and have a family with. But one of our children has already been taken away from us, because of the Capital, because of the President. It's going to take a while to heal, maybe even forever, but we'll make it through this. We will have a family one day. I know we will. I'll make sure of it.

And I will make the President pay.

...

The surgery was successful. Tris is in recovery right now, and I am sitting on the chair next to her bed again, holding her hand. Everyone else is in here as well. Rose is holding her other hand.

We are all silent. Waiting for her to wake up. Not knowing what to say because there isn't really anything to say. We won the games and the President killed our baby. That's all there is to discuss. And none of us really wants to discuss that right now. It turns out that the rebellion has started. It started in Eleven, and Twelve, and has now spread to some other districts. The Games should be over soon. Hopefully.

Tris starts to thrash around and scream. She's having a nightmare. I jump out of my seat and sit next to her on the bed.

"Tris, honey, wake up. It's not real. I'm here. Wake up. It's not real. I love you." I keep saying things like that as I shake her shoulders, trying to wake her up.

And she does. Sweat pours down her face, mixing in with the tears that line her cheeks.

"You're alive. You're here." She says quietly as she traces my cheeks with her hands.

"Yeah, I'm alive, and I'm not going anywhere. I wouldn't leave you. I love you."

She pulls me closer and kisses me sweetly before pulling away slightly so only our foreheads are touching.

"I love you, too." She tells me.

"Are you okay? Are you sore or anything?"

"I'm slightly sore, but I think I'll be okay. Especially with you here. And my family. And our friends. Our family."

"We're not going anywhere." Uri yells and we all smile.

Tris gets a hug from everyone and we all sit and talk about what happened whilst we were away. Apparently everyone in Twelve is incredibly angry at the Capital for still letting us in the Games even though Tris was pregnant. They're angry for the miscarriage as well. Everyone is thinking of a plan to take down the Capital but they don't know how to do so.

After a few hours everyone leaves so Tris can get some rest. But I stay with her.

"Can you lay with me, please?" She asks me as she moves over in the bed so I can fit.

I lay next to her, on my side so that I face her, I wrap my arms around her small frame and kiss the top of her head.

"I love you, Tris."

"I love you, too, Toby."

We kiss and soon she falls asleep. It's not long before I join her in sleep world.
