I am doing what mom had said, I am walking the sidewalk to my house, straight after the bell. It is only some moments later when I hear a voice in the distance which sounds like it was calling for me. It could be my imagination so I continue walking.

But the voice calls out again, probably a little louder. I want to run until I see who the voice belongs and that he keeps trying to catch up with me. Finally reaching me, the poor sap is nearly out of breath.

"Need... a ride?" The familiar face asks hesitantly.

"Um, no that's alright. My mom always warned me about riding with strangers." He gives a faint smile and glances at my doodling book.

"Well, I'm Zayn Malik," he holds his hand out.

I smile back while shaking his hand, "I know who you are. My name is Robin Meadows."

"Robin. As in the girl that left puzzled this morning when I tried to introduce myself the first time?"

A giggle escapes my mouth, "I didn't mean too, it's just that you're so—"

"Cute? Adorable? Hot? Sexy? I've heard it all."

"Where did you get your jacket?"

He looks out into the open view, "Used to play football...'till I got kicked off the team and out of school."

"What for?" I ask curiously.

He looks at his hands, "Fighting."

My eyes look at the ground.

"There was this girl that I dated for five years. She had two kids from one of my friends, which I thought were mine, she had been with him for two years and four months. When I found out, I swear I thought I killed him!"

There is silence for a moment after his heartfelt confession.

"Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow." I begin walking back.

"You're gonna walk home?" he yells after me.

"I don't live that far," I yell back.

He runs, catching up with me and stops me, "Please, let me take you."

Somehow, I just couldn't say no to those deep, dark, chocolate brown eyes.

I roll my eyes, "Okay, I guess."

So instead of showing him where I lived, I think it might be fun to get to know him a little better.

So, we go for ice cream. I get my favorite, Strawberry, and he gets Coconut.

"So, tell me about your family," I take a couple of licks of my ice cream.

"Well, I've got three sisters, Doniya, Waliyha, and Safaa. Doniya is the oldest, while Waliyha and Safaa are the youngest."

"Mmm... Interesting."

He then starts laughing at me.

"What's so funny?" I ask, smiling.

"You've got a mustache!"

I wipe it off quickly throwing the napkin at him.

He'd calms down a bit, "So, what's there to know about yours?"

I take a bite of my cone, "Well I have a five year-old sister named Chloe and my mom. My dad died three years ago."

He stares at me for a moment, "You're so pretty."

"Really? I've never heard anyone call me that."

"I don't see why not. I mean you—"

"What do you want?"

He smiles greatly, "Nothing. I want nothing."

We both just sit for a little while and talk about anything basically. We talk until we are the last two sitting.

"Hey, what time is it?" I ask worriedly.

"Uh, it's 8:08. Why do yo—"

"Oh no!" I get up fast and head for the door.

Zayn gets up to stop me. "Wait! What's wrong?"

"I was supposed to be home HOURS ago to see my sister!" I say, panicking.

He cups my face, "Hey, it is okay! You'll get there."

And we do, we get there before mom comes home. I rush out the car to find Chloe sitting alone on the steps. Zayn gets out too.

"Chloe!" I embrace her in the tightest hug.

"Robin!" She hugs me back even tighter.

"Why didn't you unlock the door?"

"The door was locked, and mommy told me to wait for you."

"Well, come on," I say, grabbing her hand.

"Hey, I gotta go. I'll see you at school tomorrow." Zayn states, getting into his car.

"Alright, bye!" I say, closing the door.

"Robin, I'm hungry!"

"Alright, well what do you want to eat?"

"PIZZA!" I swear that kid has the energy of a two year-old.

"Okay," I say calling Pizza Hut. The pizza comes just in time before mom comes. Chloe walks up to her room with about five slices.

I follow and sit on her bed, "Promise me you won't tell mom!"

"Hmm... You'll have to let me doodle in your book."

I roll my eyes jokingly. "Okay, I'll go get it I just have to tear a few things out."

She gives me a tight hug, "I love you, Robin."

"I love you too, now let me go get it." But as I search through my bag, I couldn't find it nor could I find my phone. I start to panic, until a thought comes to mind.

It's in Zayn's car.

Hopefully, he'll bring it back.

"Hey Chloe, I ca—" I stop in my tracks, she is already sound asleep.

After I clean up everything, I decide to watch some T.V. in my room, until mom comes home.

Sometime later, I hear the door open and footsteps up to my room, "Did you get here on time?"

"Yeah," I lie.

She looks down at the carpet, "No, you didn't."

"Mom, I totally did!"

She walks closer pointing her finger at me, "NO, you didn't because I waited an hour with Chloe, before I was supposed to go back to work and I didn't see you walk up!! STOP LYING ROBIN!" She calms down a bit, but her voice still stern. "You're grounded for three weeks." She then proceeds to walk out.

"BUT WHY!?"

She turns around. "WHY? YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY?! Because THIS is the fourteenth time you've done this Robin!! THAT'S WHY!!!" A pillow comes hurdling my way. "Now I don't want to hear another word, you come straight home tomorrow."

I throw the pillow back at her, "Or what?"

"You will never see another day ever again."

And with that she slams my door shut.
