"Ready?" Levy looked at me with confidence in her eyes. I nodded, I looked really determined on the outside, but on the inside, I was a mess of butterflies and queasy feelings.
Of course I wasn't ready!! But I had no time to vent my problems on the people on my team, so I concentrated on the feeling of my heart sinking deep into my foot. Not my stomach, not my legs, my foot.
My thoughts were interrupted by the booming voice of the commentator.
"Welcome everyone! To the Grand Magic Games!!!" Roars of approval were heard with that statement, the commentator continued.
"Out of all of the teams competing, only eight made it here! I'm going to announce the eight teams! In eighth place, we have..... Team FAIRY TAIL!!!!!"
We walked into the blinding sunlight of the arena, Natsu roaring all by himself. To which I happily imitated him, roaring my heart out helped out the butterflies a lot.
But instead of being greeted with cheers and confettis, we were greeted by boos and looks of amusement. The crowd was mocking us. A vein popped in the pink haired boy's head, and I could tell he was about to say something, but Gray held him back, although he looked just as mad.
But that all changed when we noticed the entire guild cheering us on from their spot in the audience, waving a banner and cheering for us. I could almost shed a tear of happiness.
But I didn't. 'Cause I'm not technically a part of that guild, I'm just in it to find my friend Samei. And hopefully not fail my team.
That last part is going to be harder to achieve as I can still barely fight with my sword and it's really tiring to actually summon my bow, it's like using something deep inside of me to physically manifest the object. That sounds complicated.
After us, the guild known as Quatro Cerberus came into 7th place. They were really loud and kept shouting: "WILD FOUR!!!" really loudly.
In 6th place came an all girl's guild known as Mermaid Heel. There was a purple haired woman with a sword at her side and a very serious look, and I could already guess that she was probably one of the strongest in her guild. She just gave off an aura that told you that she meant business and I respected her for that.
I mentally respected her that is. I didn't tell her that I respected her and she didn't tell me that she meant business, it was just the feeling she gave off that made me respect her, kinda like seeing the death glare of a girl and thinking that she means business and you respect her for it. Kinda like that.
In 5th place came the Blue Pegasus guild with those guys that tried flirting with me two chapters ago. There was also a blue bunny with a creepy smile that reminded me of those animatronics at Chuck E Cheese.... Creepy...
And lastly, in 4th place came the Lamia Scale guild which had also visited Fairy Tail two chapters ago. I noticed that same grey haired guy that I think Gray called Lyon or something. Like the city in France. There was also the weird dog guy named Toby. The other three people was an oldish man with the longest beard I ever saw, an adorable little girl Wendy's size with two red side tails tied by yellow ribbons.
Speaking of Wendy, turns out Lucy, and Happy found her in the royal garden passed out and completely out of magic power. Alex swore that he would replace her the best he could and then followed by one of his mini-depressions. I also promised myself silently that I would try my best not to let the guild down, they did so much for me and now it was my turn to pay them back.
