As I kept chattering about Jacob, I came to a slow stop as we rode across a house that had once had a for sale sign on it.
"Just a few days ago there was a for sale sign on that house, wasn't there?" I thought through to myself asking Sam.
"Ya, but maybe some moron kid pulled the sign out of the ground. It's likely to happen."
"Let's check the house out. Come on!" I shouted as I felt my wheels moving faster and faster.
The house we stared at had a nice pool in the back and was bigger than an average house. I recall my parents telling me about the pricing on this house. It was pricey. It had a nicely tiled walkway to the front door, and I realized that someone must of put up a trampoline also.
"I wish I owned this house," Sam sighed.
"You see the trampoline in the back? That wasn't there when we came last. Someone must actually be moving here," I told Sam shocked.
When we pulled away from the house we kept zooming past the houses as the sunset came upon us. We also saw the wannabe in my class, Tyler. He is your typical teen boy that's checking out girls and looking at models.
"Hey," Tyler says trying to be cool as he goes in for a layup.
"How have you been doin'?" I question wanting to leave.
"You know I've been ballin," He says as I roll my eyes.
"Whatever show off. Being cool isn't working so well for ya," I laugh as I start to pull away.
"Shut up!" He screams trying to act like he wasn't showing off. Just if he was actually useful for something.
"He is such an idiot," Sam reminds me as if I don't know that already.
We start to pedal our way back home and bring up the topic of school again."Just if school didn't have as many irrelevant, fake people it actually might be a little more enjoyable. I have to see all of those fake people in only three weeks, and I just saw one a few seconds ago!" I grumble.
"Sounds like something I was just going to say!The one crazy thing is that we are going to seventh grade. Then it will be eighth grade and bam! High school!" Sam shouts.
"You really think ahead far, don't you?" I query.
"Got to plan ahead! The one thing I wish I could plan ahead is having one good person go to my school. Only one!"
I look at my hand again. The things I think about. The things I dream for.
"I wish that too," I said just gloomy enough for her to question it.
"Woah. Why did that sound so, depressing?"
"I didn't mean for it to sound that way," I lied. We start pedaling forward again and arrive at our houses.
"I'll try to catch up with you tomorrow. I think I might have a softball game. Bye!" She says walking to her front door.
"Bye." When I walk inside my dad greets me by squeezing me.
"Let go!" I manage to say losing my breath from the pressure of how tight he was holding me.
"Okay, okay. How was your little bike ride swee?" He says letting go of me.
"It actually wasn't all that terrible. But you know that house in the next subdivision that you said was pricey and was for sale? Someone bought it," I reminded myself still shocked.
"Really? Whoever bought it has to own a deal of money. I wonder when they are moving in. I would imagine it to be a family," my dad concluded.
"Ya. I'm going to hop in the shower though.I smell like a decayed fish," I said knowing I smelled horrible.
"Okay. Dinner will be ready in half an hour," my mom announced.
I ran to the shower happy ready to think about the one thing that has been kept in mind all day: Jacob.
