Chapter One: Kikyo and Kagome's Love for Inuyasha

Kagome and her friends, Miroku, Sango, Shippo, and Inuyasha had finished defeating a demon who contained a jewel shard deep within its body. Kagome didn't feel like Inuyasha was just a friend. She thought he was so much more. She was in love with him. She loved his funny personality, the silly things he would say from time and time, and his sweet personality that was coming to fruition. All because of Kagome Higurashi. He didn't know it yet, but Kagome was the girl that was changing him into a better, stronger, kinder person. She wished to know if he loved her.

"Why don't we rest at this village?" Miroku suggests. "You perverted monk!" Sango slaps him as Miroku groans in pain. "Oh...I see...Miroku just wants to stay for the female villagers!" Inuyasha says. "Yeah...when we should really stay for the food!" Shippo says as Kirara purs in agreement. Kagome was dashing off into her own imagination, not noticing the others glancing at her to see what she has to say. "Kagome?" Sango speaks. "Huh?" Kagome blinks. "Is something the matter?" Miroku asks. "Uh? Oh haha nothing! I-I'm just a bit dizzy that's all!" Kagome replies.

"Are you sure Kagome?" Shippo asks. "Yeah! We should stay here! We need rest and a bite to eat!!! Uh...I'm going to go take a bath in a nearby lake!" Kagome smiles as she then walks off, wishing, Inuyasha would ask her if she was okay, or at least follow along. "Let me come too, I need to bathe too." Sango says, making Miroku blush, and almost nosebleed in response. Kagome smiles barely as the two walk off. Miroku ushers Kirara to take Shippo off to their stay house in order for the village chef to prepare their meals.

"Why'd you make Kirara take Shippo and herself out of here?" Inuyasha asks. "Why don't we go spy on the girls?" Miroku suggests. "Eh?!" Inuyasha looks at Miroku as he hits his head. "Go see what we're eating for dinner!" Inuyasha growls. "Ouch! Alright geez!" Miroku walks off, disappointed because he couldn't get a sneak at the girls. Inuyasha slowly follows, suddenly pausing in his walk. His ears twitch as he sniffs the air. Fresh sweet flowers? No doubt, that's the scent of Kikyo. "...Kikyo." Inuyasha follows the trace of her scent, Inuyasha's world, now revolving completely on Priestess Kikyo.

"Kagome, tell me, what's going on?" Sango asks gently. "Hmm?" Kagome lets the water sooth her hair. "It seems like you have been daydreaming an awful lot lately, is this because you've fallen for Inuyasha?" She asks. "H-Huh?!" Kagome blushes brightly. Sango smiles lightly. "Tell him about your feelings!" Sango says full of encouragement. I really wish I could...but Inuyasha is in love with Kikyo, they've been lovers for a long time. Kagome thinks truthfully in her head. Sango lays back by a rock and glances at Kagome. "Kagome, you've proven your love to him, so please, confess."

Kagome just showed a slight smile as she looks at the moon, slowly approaching. "It's getting late Kagome, we should go back to the village and eat." Sango speaks. "Actually, I need to go back home to get something. I'll see you later." Kagome replies. "Ah, okay." Sango smiles as she pulls on her clothes, heading for the village. Kagome stays in the water for a few seconds, as she then gets out. She dresses as her ears could hear the voice of her beloved dog friend Inuyasha the half-demon. "Inuyasha?" She quickly follows his voice in a forest.

"Kikyo..." Inuyasha speaks softly, slowly walking towards the priestess Kikyo. Kagome's eyes widen as she saw the two and quickly hid behind a tree. "Inuyasha." Kikyo lets his name slowly slip out. "Wh-What are you doing here?" He asks. Kikyo takes a step towards him as she hugs Inuyasha, much to his surprise. "I came to see you Inuyasha." Kikyo declares. Inuyasha slowly hugs back, missing her delicate presence. "I came by to say that I love you, Inuyasha." Kikyo says. "Kikyo, I've always loved you." Inuyasha slowly leans towards her and kisses her softly, as she kisses back.

Kagome's eyes watered, as she could no longer take this, left alone barely watch this. I knew it...he's never loved me...he's only ever loved Kikyo...I-I can't stand this...it hurts to love him knowing that he loves someone else...that's right...She was here first. Inuyasha and Kikyo are lovers....I'm...I'm going home...I can't suffer so much... Kagome quickly turns around as she quietly dashes off so the two wouldn't hear her. Still kissing, Kikyo slowly opens her eyes, seeing Kagome run off as she glares. Good riddance. You didn't belong here. Or with Inuyasha.
