ATTENTION: THIS IS THE LAST CHAPTER

"What are you guys doing here?!" I shout. This was highly unexpected.

Grandmother puts her hands on her hips and shakes her head. "To help you of course! Darkness never wins!"

Max holds a finger up at her. "But, does the sky really darken every minute?"

She kicks Max in both his knees at this? Since when was she this violent? Isn't she past her 60's? "How should I know?! I'm not a scientist!"

"That's what I thought. She just wanted something that sounded cool to say," Wisty mutters from behind me.

Everyone's attention turns to Rowan and Robert, because we all want to know why they're acting like such children all of a sudden. Perhaps . . . our grandparents are their weaknesses?

"Mr. Foster?! Klein Foster? You and Carlisle had a child?" Rowan shouts.

"It's Carla!" Grandmother shouts.

Robert, who has more control over the situation, says, "Miss Carla Strauss . . . What a pleasant surprise."

"You brats never change! I want you to stop this immediately! Or else, you'll have hell to pay!!" Grandfather exclaims.

Charlie steps forward, standing next to me. He looks extremely charming in his new clothing. A white suit fits him better than a black one. "What exactly is going on?" I can tell, by his posture and tone, that he's still surprised at me being here. Wisty also.

"Your grandfather and I were teachers at the high school these morons attended. It was a very elite school. I was the martial arts teacher, and Klein was the baseball coach. Everyday we'd torture these delinquents, and eventually, they came out as millionaires," Grandmother explains.

Charlie laughs. "My dad was a delinquent? I guess it runs in the family."

Grandfather continues, "The students knew Carla and I had a relationship, but these two were the only ones against it. Even the principal supported it. When the Bobby and Rowan finally graduated, Carla and I got married and had Zoe. Then, out of nowhere, when Noa was born, that filthy man forced her to abandon her kids!"

"You've gone off topic, Gramps," I say.

"The point is, I beg you, do not ruin the futures of our grandchildren. Does it really matter what class they're from?" Grandmother says.

"She's right, ROBERT." I know this horrifying voice. When I heard it the first time, I never called Charlie using his home number again.

"Jennifer! You too?!" Robert shrieks. I guess he kept his cool for long enough. The women in his life sure are overpowering.

Jen walks up to me and hugs me tightly. "I'm sorry I didn't speak up earlier. I won't let anyone have Charlie if it's not you."

Wisty steps forward. "Father, if you still force me to marry Charlie, even after this, I will never say a single word to you again. I promise you. Besides, today is your only daughter's birthday. Show a little respect."

Woah. I didn't expect her to say that. That in itself is pretty harsh, for a father.  Even Max is speechless. Rowan does some kind of terror run around the ballroom, if we hadn't noticed already that he's losing this fight.

"NOW, tell us your answer!" Jen demands. Somehow, this whole situation turned into a comedy from a drama. I guess it's better that way. I don't feel like crying because of something unhappy.
