The next morning, I met Perrie and Camilla in a hallway in between our bedrooms. We went down to find Gianna and our make up and dresses on. Then we walked around the castle for a while, talking about anything and everything.

We were walking around for about 20 minutes when we stumbled upon a servant.

"Hey!" He greeted us with a smile. He had dimples and blond hair.

"Hi!" We all giggled. He introduced himself as Luke and winked at Perrie when she told him her name. We talked to him for a bit, but he had to go and do his duties - but before leaving he took Perrie's hand and kissed it. She blushed and Camilla and I aww'ed to ourselves. Then he walked away, but not before tripping and falling right on his bum. He grew red as Perrie quickly ran over to help him up. Camilla and I were trying not to laugh, which resulted in some strange wheezing and cough noises.

As soon as he left Perrie turned to us, obviously trying not to laugh. We all doubled over, practically crying. We continued to walk through the halls, laughing.

We walked down one hallway and noticed the prince was walking down the opposite way. They both slapped each other and me. I was in the middle and they both giggled, smiling at the prince. We all bowed, but he only looked at me. He smiled and nodded in greeting at me. He came up to me and Perrie and Camilla stepped away.

"Violet, I was wondering if you would accompany me on a walk tomorrow after breakfast?" He asked me.

"Of course, your highness." I smiled, bowing again.

"I'll see you later, then." He kissed my hand. I blushed furiously, making him smirk.

He walked away from us and Camilla and Perrie ran up to me squealing. Niall heard them and turned around staring at them weirdly, then he chuckled at them and turned the corner and walked away.

"I can't believe it! He was totally flirting with you!" Camilla practically screamed.

"That was so cute! He definitely likes you!" Perrie shouted.

"He probably acts that way with everyone." I shrugged, still blushing.

"Yeah right. I haven't seen him talk to anyone like that." Perrie winked.

"Do you like him?" Camilla asked.

"I don't know." I shrugged again. They both stared me down and my face heated up. "Maybe. But I don't know him well enough to know." I proved and crossed my arms. "Let's just keep walking okay." I continued walking, they both followed me laughing at me.

That night I didn't sleep. I was thinking too hard. I was excited that the prince asked me to go walk with him and talk to him, but I didn't know how I felt about being with him. I didn't want to be here, I wanted to be back at home with my family and friends. I had a boyfriend type person back home. We weren't dating but I had a huge crush on him, and he had a crush back on me. We were best friends but were too scared to start any relationship, so we stayed best friends. I missed him so much and I felt like I was betraying him just by being here and enjoying life here. I shouldn't be enjoying life here, these people took my life away. They just took me from my home and expect me to be grateful and live here and serve them for the rest of my life. I grew angry as I realized this. Who does Niall think he is, he shouldn't be able to just choose a girl to live with him! It has to be a mutual thing. What if he chooses someone and she doesn't want to be with him? What if she loves someone else? Does he even care about anyone else besides himself? He seemed so nice when I talked to him, but a prince who forces women to be with him is not the kind of person I want to be with. Besides, I love someone else.

Early morning I fell asleep just to be awoken by my alarm 20 minutes later.

I looked horrible that morning. I had bags under my eyes and my hair was a mess. I stumbled down to Gianna who pretended to not notice how dead I looked.

"Hey sweetie." She greeted me. "Did you sleep at all last night?"

"No." I grumbled. "And the prince invited me to go on a walk with him after breakfast."

"No matter! It will be fine." She said, I think she was trying to convince herself. She had me bathe and get changed into a nice green dress. She put my hair in a braid down my back and then tried to fix up my face.

I looked less tired after she covered up the bags under my eyes, which I was grateful for. I hugged her after she was finished and headed to breakfast, meeting Camilla and Perrie on the way.

"What was the town like?" The prince asked me later that day when we were walking together through an inside garden.

"It was nice." I told him. "I mean, we were all very poor. We didn't have much at all, but we had happiness. And I mean that's better isn't it?" I asked him, he raised an eyebrow and I realized how weird that must sound to a prince. "Sorry. Anyway, there's a lot of teenagers there and we would all go to school in the morning, and then after school we would go to my house - because I lived on a farm - and we would feed and play with the animals. On Saturdays we would go to the town and hang out in the markets and either help out or mess around with the people." I laughed and looked at Niall who was just looking at me with interest. "What's it like living here?"

"It's pretty boring I guess. Since the King is my father I have to behave and learn about being King. I don't know, I'm really lucky to be living here because obviously there's enough food and money and safety here, but I wish I didn't have to grow up alone. There's no other kids that I'm allowed to play with - minus my brother - but I wasn't really allowed to be a kid, I had to grow up fast and take up responsibilities." He said, looking away from me. I think I understood what he meant - he wasn't allowed to have much fun here, which sucked because it was a castle. You would think that would be much more fun than a poor town.

We talked for hours that day, but too soon we had to part ways so that he could get to his responsibilities and duties that he had to do.

Over the next few weeks we had met up in the morning and talked about many things. He was a gentleman and he was very kind, I didn't understand why they stole girls just to find a bride. It didn't make sense to me. He was so nice and it didn't seem that he would put up with something like that. He was making me feel more happy and comfortable here at the castle and I hate to say it, but I really liked him.
