Niall got back in the carriage.

"Thanks for letting me come." I gave him a small smile, he looked at me confused.

"What's wrong?" He asked me. I realized I had tears in my eyes.

"It's nothing." I looked away, knowing he wouldn't understand anyway. "Just missing my family." Which wasn't a lie. He took my hand in his and gave me a reassuring smile. It made me feel better inside and then the carriage took us back up to the castle.

Niall and I parted ways and I went to find Gianna.

"Hello sweetheart, how was town?" She asked me.

"It was fine." I shrugged. She didn't seem satisfied with that answer, and she pestered me until I told her everything about Liam.

"He's an idiot." She muttered. "I'm sure there's a reason, I mean he doesn't know where you are or if you're still alive." She pointed out.

"He still moved on pretty quickly." I mumbled.

"I'm so sorry." She hugged me.

I spent the rest of the day with Gianna, helping out with cleaning and whatever else she had to do. I didn't want to go down to dinner and talk to people, so I just went to my room. Gianna brought up some dinner for me for which I was very grateful and I went to bed early.

The next morning I found out I had forgotten to set my alarm, and realized it was already lunch time. I groaned remembering that Niall and I normally walked in the morning. I would have to find him and apologize for missing it. Then everything hit me from the night before. How Liam betrayed me. I laid back in my bed, my heart plummeting. I didn't want to get up and face the world anytime soon, and I was pretty sure no one would notice if I didn't come downstairs. So I stayed in my room all day doing literally nothing.

The next few days were the same. About a week later I got up slightly earlier, yet feeling exactly the same. I put my messy hair in a bun and searched the room for pants and a shirt. Most everything was a dress, but I managed to find a couple pairs of pants and shorts deep down in a trunk shoved in the closet. I put on some sweatpants and a t-shirt and sat down on my bed staring outside, it was thunder storming.

I heard a knock on my door, which caused me to jump. I got up and opened the door a crack looking to see who it was. My heart beat faster as I noticed it was Niall. I was a mess and I did not want him to see me like this.

"Violet?" He said. "Are you alright?" I opened the door more so that he could actually see me and I tried to fix my messy hair.

"Yeah!" I said, breathlessly. "I'm completely fine." My voice came out high pitched and he could tell I was lying.

"What is it thats bothering you?" He asked me. "May I come in?" I turned bright red looking own at my outfit.

"I'm a complete mess." I told him honestly.

"No matter." He said. "I want to know what's wrong." I sighed and opened the door widely so he could walk in. He sat on a chair and motioned for me to sit next to him. I sat on the couch opposite him and quickly took my hair out of my bun and tried to comb through it with my fingers. He looked at me expectantly and I told him about Liam.

When I was done he stood up and walked over to me, taking my hand he pulled me up and gave me a hug.

"I'm very sorry to hear about that." He told me. "I don't understand why anyone would do that to you, you're too special. He doesn't deserve you."

Butterflies filled my stomach and I hugged him tightly. He knew exactly what to say and I felt loads better. I still felt betrayed by Liam, obviously, but I knew that I could count on Niall to be there for me. I gave Niall another hug before he had to go, and promised him I would at least leave my room.

I went to find Camilla and Perrie and tell them everything that happened, my heart bursting with a strange new emotion. The grief that I had felt over the last few days had almost vanished, happiness surged through me as I remembered what Niall had said to me.

The next few days I spent with Niall. We talked a lot and grew a lot closer. I was a lot happier spending time with him and I really liked him.

I was walking through the halls with Camilla, when I saw something I did not want to see. I saw Niall talking with some girl who I didn't know, but had seen a couple times at meals and such. Camilla and I were walking down the hall they were standing in but stopped short noticing them. We rushed behind a statue and peered around, watching them. Niall leaned down and kissed her lightly on the forehead and then again on her lips. Camilla looked at me and I turned on my heel and ran away.

I ran straight back to my room, slamming my door. I locked it and flopped on my bed, letting all my tears out. I shouldn't had been so stupid thinking he could like me when he was allowed to have any of the many girls they had brought for him. He was allowed to flirt and kiss whoever he liked since he was the prince. I grew angrier at how selfish he was and how stupid it was that he could just play around with any girl who he likes just because he was a prince.

I didn't stay in my room the next day, I just hung out with Camilla and Perrie and decided to just ignore Niall. I didn't expect him to find me or talk to me since he had a new girl who he was spending time with.

At the moment Camilla and Perrie were introducing me to someone they had met while I had been hiding away in my room.

"Hello!" She said brightly. "My name is Keetara. Tara for short." She was younger than me but she was very beautiful.

"My name's Violet." I told her, giving her a smile. She informed me she was from a village just outside of mine, which was just slightly larger than mine. We hung out for the next few days and I found out she was very funny. She liked to have fun and be adventurous which was cool with me, so we spent lots of days exploring the ginormous castle.

"Violet!" The prince had called to me one day. I had been walking down the hall with Tara and didn't notice he was there. I didn't make eye contact with him and continued walking, faster this time. "Violet!" He called again, trying to walk up to me. Tara moved so he couldn't grab my hand and I swiftly turned the corner, making sure I had no emotion on my face.

Every encounter I had with the prince had been the same. He had been trying to talk to me but I just ignored him.

"Violet!" A couple days later, I was walking to meet Perrie but was walking alone. To my annoyance, I had walked into a hallway where the prince was. He grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him. "Why are you ignoring me?" He asked me. I looked away from him and kept my mouth shut. "What is it? What did I do?" He put his hands on my arms and faced me towards him.

"I don't want to talk to you." I said, coldly.

"What happened? Violet-" He asked.

"I said, I don't want to talk to you." I said, louder this time.

"Please just tell me what I did wrong." He pleaded, trying to look me in the eyes.

"You did nothing wrong. You're just a stupid selfish prince and I don't want to talk to you anymore." I pulled myself out of his grip and continued to stomp away.

"Violet wait!" He yelled. I rolled my eyes, completely filled with anger.

"Stop trying to talk to me! I can't believe you! You have all these girls taken to your stupid castle and you ruin their lives, making them never see their family and friends again! You make them your servants and you just pick one of them to be your wife! How completely arrogant and selfish of you!" I started yelling at him. He looked at me, dumfounded. I rolled my eyes again and spun on my heel, walking away. "Stupid jerk." I muttered to myself as I went to find Perrie.
