Scarlett's Point Of View:
I watched Clint as he fought himself. The fought to break out of his restraints.
"Clint, you're going to be alright."
"You know that?" He laughed shortly. "Is that what you know?" I got up and walked over to the table next to the bed. "I've got no window." I began to get a glass of water. "I have to flush him out."
"You got to level out, it's going to take time." I said, knowing we didn't have time to spare.
"You don't understand." He sounded like he was out of breath. "Have you ever had someone take your brain and play?" He looked up at me , hopelessness filled his eyes. "Pull you out and stuff something else in?" I rested my hand on his cheek. "Do you know what it's like to be unmade?" I lowed my hand.
"You know that I do." He tuned his head looking at the wall.
"Why am I back? How did you get him out?" I walked to sit at the edge of the bed.
"Cognitive recalibration. I hit you really hard on the head."
"Thanks." I started to take off his restraints. I looked up at him then started to undo the other restraints.
"Scarlett..." I undid the strap. "How many agents did I-"
"Don't." I cut him off looking up at him. "Don't do that to yourself, Clint. This is Loki. This is monsters and magic, and nothing we were ever trained for."
"Loki, did he get away?"
"Yeah. I don't suppose you know where." He shook his head.
"I didn't need to know." I got up. "I didn't ask." I walked over to the door, I could hear him swing his legs over the edge. "He's going to make his play soon, though. Today."
"We got to stop him." I turned to look at him.
"Yeah? Who's 'we'?" He held the metal cup in his hand.
"I don't know, whoever's left."
"Well, if I put an arrow through Loki's eye socket. I would sleep better, I suppose." I walked over and sat next to him.
"Now you sound like you." I smiled, he looked over at me.
"But you don't." I frowned. "You're a spy, not a soldier. Now you want to wade into a war. Why?" He eyed me. "What did Loki do to you?"
"He didn't, I just...." I looked away from him.
"Scarlett." He grabbed my hand, lacing out fingers together.
"I've been compromised." I looked straight ahead. "I got red in my ledger." I looked over at him, he looked down then back up. "I would like to wipe it out."
He rested his hand on my cheek, I looked down. But be then raised my head up causing me to look at him. I placed my hand over his lower it. I looked out the door to see the Agent standing there not moving.
"They don't trust me, do they?" He questioned and I looked at him.
"Give them time." I still held my hand over his.
"Do you trust me?" I looked at him.
"I, I've always trusted you." He looked at me, like he was trying to read me like he always did.
"Even when I went to kill you? When I hurt your sister to get to you." My grip tightened.
"I-I don't know." I looked down at my feet, letting go of his hand and held onto my legs.
"Scarlett, do you trust me?"
"Now or then?" I looked up at him and he wiped a tear that had slipped down my cheek.
"That's up to you." I sadly smiled at him.
"When is something up to me?" He pulled me closer to him.
"Kissing me is something up to you." He smiled at me, and lightly smiled.
"But that's also up to you." He smiled running his thumb over my cheek.
"I was hoping you would say that." He smiled pulling me into a kiss, and of course I kissed him back.
