~Three Weeks Later~
Matty and I texted almost constantly and saw each other a few times after that night. We didn't have much to say about what happened other than the smug jokes Matty jabbed at me with a playful smirk on his face. I had continued to be apprehensive about his reputation because of Lindsay's confession, but he didn't seem to match what she had told me at all. I could see how he could be a "lady killer" seeing as how he was beautiful and wild, but I was with him or messaged him so much that I got no hints of him being with other girls. I didn't want to give away my heart in the first place, but I flat out refused to give it to someone who didn't deserve it if I had to do it.
Lindsay and I had gotten rather close since then, as well. We had went out for smoothies a few times and I helped her pick out a party dress at the mall. Caroline had gotten a bit jealous, so I ended up introducing them and they loved each other. I had many female friends because, lets face it, girls can be loads of drama, but Lindsay was always a breath of fresh air and never gossiped unless it was harmlessly.
My coffee warmed my hands as I sat at a booth in a dimly lit café while I waited for Lindsay to finish her phone call. By the way she was speaking in a flirty, sweet tone, I knew George was on the other line. They were the kind of sweet that didn't make me want to vomit because they truly cared a lor about each other. Soon, she hung up and shoved her phone back into her purse, turning back to me.
"Sorry about that. He couldn't find my apartment key again. Typical George," she giggled.
"No problem," I waved her off.
"So is Matty still messaging you?" she wiggled her eyebrows.
As if on queue, my phone buzzed in my pocket, causing me to blush. She playfully raised her eyebrows, silently asking what he said. "Pretty boring. It'd be better if you were here..." I read aloud.
"Ooh! Violet, he's so into you! You know, he asked me about you when I was at George's the other night!" she gushed.
"What'd you say?" I laughed.
"I told him to ask you himself," she chuckled. "He looked a little offended at first, but then picked up his phone. Then he was glued to the damn thing until I left."
"I do like him a lot, but I've been single for so long and if he really is a player, I don't want to get attached and end up hurt," I admitted.
"I'm not saying not to be cautious, just go with the flow," she offered.
"Alright. I think I will. I do worry too much," I agreed.
"Good! Sadly, I think I had better get going. If you end up going to Matty's..." she trailed off wiggling her eyebrows. I rolled my eyes at her and laughed. We said our goodbyes and she quickly rushed out the door, clearly eager to see George.
I decided to reply to Matty. Lucky for you, I'm free right now ;) I typed and hit send.
Seconds later, my phone buzzed. Then you best be getting your cute little self down here this second x

"I understand completely. I mean, George is my first real boyfriend. I liked playing the field, but he changed my outlook. And on the bright side, if Matty does anything stupid you know George will end up telling me and of course I'll tell you!"
