Caroline and I stood outside on Jaxon's porch squeezing our coats close to us to keep warm when a black car with tinted windows pulled up. Out stepped none other than Matty, smoking a cigarette. "Twenty minutes on the dot!" he exclaimed.
"Congratulations on your small victory," I rolled my eyes. His smile remained strong. "But, I need a little more information on this said party." Drunken Caroline nodded her head in agreement, still stepping from one foot to the other in effort to keep warm.
Matty approached us with his free hand outstretched. "I'm Matty. You must be the best friend. What's your name, love?"
She sloppily shook his hand. "Caroline Marie Gardener," she boasted. She was a very happy and confident drunk, which I liked because it was very amusing.
"Nice too meet you," he smiled then turned to me. "My mate, George, is throwing a real party on the other side of town. Are you guys down?" Caroline and I looked at each other and evil smiles spread across our faces. Next thing we knew, we were in Matty's car with the music blasting.
When we arrived, we knew he was not joking around when he said it was a real party. Bodies poured from the entrance, people stood around on the small patio smoking, music blared from inside, and cases of alcohol were almost constantly being carried through the threshold. I knew tonight would either be undeniably amazing, or a complete disaster. Matty turned to me and Amy and asked, "Are you girls ready?" We nodded and opened our doors.
Once inside, Matty disappeared, leaving Caroline and I hopelessly gazing around for someone familiar to no avail. "Let's start off with more drinks," Caroline said while strolling to the table with at least a dozen bottles of various liquors. She peered around for a moment before taking a whole bottle of something I had never tried before. "We can both drink from this. I'm not sick and it's fairly hard to drug a bottle," she laughed.
I shrugged and took the bottle from her, taking a long swig. "Hmm, what should we do?" I asked.
"Well, I have no idea who any of these people are, but I'm sure when we're drunk they'll all be our friends by the end of the night," she giggled. It was true, when we were intoxicated, there was no such thing as strangers; everyone was our friend. Amy more than myself, though.
"I see you two have helped yourself to drinks," I heard Matty yell over the music. He had his arm around some tall guy. "This is George, the one I was telling you about," he said mostly to me. George gave us a friendly wave.
"Hey. Thanks for having us," I smiled.
"No problem. What are your names?" he asked.
Before I could answer, Matty answered for us, "This is Caroline Gardener and this is Violet Collins."
"Good to have you," he slurred before finding someone he knew and wandering off.
"That was as shortly lived as expected," Matty chuckled.
"Uh, sorry, but where's the restroom?" Caroline asked whilst clutching her stomach.
