Chapter 1: Demons

Location: The suburbs of Charlotte, NC

I exhaled silently, looking around the room. I didn't know what was chasing me. All I knew is that I didn't want it to find me. I was hiding behind a couch in my living room. The creature had been quiet for a while, but I knew it was waiting for me to see if it was gone.

My heart beat faster and faster when I heard the creature make its way to where I was. It moved the couch and stared down at me. I tensed in my position and stared back wide eyed. My mouth was open, but no sound was coming out. It inched closer and closer to me without making a noise. By now I was trembling and tried calling for help. I couldn't back away from whatever it was, so I was helplessly pressed against the wall like a sitting duck.

The creature grabbed my arm and pulled me closer. Just before it had the chance to slice my body into pieces, the door burst open and two men ran in. One of the men was dark haired, tall, and had beautiful, sparkling hazel eyes. The other was shorter, with lighter, shorter hair, and emerald green eyes. Both men were holding guns to the creature.

The taller one moved closer and carefully moved me from the creature. It got angry that the man stole his victim, so it came after us. The man held me close behind his back and aimed the gun at the creature. The gun had a carving on the handle of some sort of symbol. It looked different than normal guns. He shot the creature in the head, and it fell to the floor with a thump.

"Are you okay, miss," the man asked, holding my shoulders and looking me directly in the eyes. I nodded, still trembling.

"What's your name?"

"R-Rosie. Who are you? And what was that thing?"

"Hi Rosie. I'm Sam and this is my brother Dean. Don't freak out or call me crazy, but that was a demon." My eyes widened.

"Don't be scared. It's dead," Dean said walking towards me. Sam let go of my shoulders and took a step back to where his brother was. They discussed what they were going to do with me while I stood trembling, still bewildered by what happened. Sam and Dean walked to where I was and told me that they would help me get everything back to normal.

"Where are you guys going?"

"We don't stay in one place for long. So we are headed out first thing tomorrow morning." I couldn't let them just leave. Not without thanking them for everything.

"Can I at least offer you a place to stay tonight?" They looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders.

"Sure," Sam finally answered.

"Nice place. What do you do for a living," Dean asked, looking around.

"I'm a dancer. I work at the dance company in the city." He raised an eyebrow.

"A dancer, huh? I bet that means you're pretty flexible," he said with a wink.

"Excuse my brother," Sam said, covering Dean's mouth.

"Let us clean up for you," he added.
