-Lucas' POV-
All that fight with Josh had me quite rattled. I never was the one who stood up to people but yet somehow when Josh called Brooks a fag something in me snapped.

The hurt and pain in his eyes was evident.

Seeing his eyes filled with tears made rage burn through me. And I couldn't help the words tumble out of me. And I dont regret it.

This was the second time in 13 years that I shouted at Josh. The first time was when I was five and he had broken the tiara,my cousin Leslie had given me.

Now that we were just two blocks away from my house and Josh was walking beside me with his head down and Brooks was behind me listening to songs on his iPod, And the sun was setting with  brilliant streaks of orange streaming across the sky, I took the time to observe Josh and then Brooks.

I thought about how Josh's eyes had widened when he had asked me if I was gay. They were filled with disbelief and a hint of something else I couldn't place.

Oh god I'm so screwed. I can never tell him I'm gay, much less in love with him.

My thoughts come to an end when we reach my house. Everything is eerily quite. I take out the keys and push them into the keyhole. I try to turn them but they're stuck.

Josh comes forward and places his hands on the doorknob before I can remove mine and our hands touch. It sends a number of sparks onto my skin. Weirdly I hear him take a sharp breath.

I hastily remove my hands from underneath his and watch him as he applies the right amount of pressure to open the door.

He turns and grins at me.
I return it.

"Aye mateys. Welcome to the Ryder palace of dreams. Jk jk its really small and kinda crappy but I hope you dont find it too uncomfortable for you,Brooks"

"Nah mate, It looks homey"

"Yay lets go inside then"

I open the door and step inside and turn on the lights.

I internally cringe at how small my house must look to Brooks. I dont really care about Josh because he practically lives off here but I know how pathetic my house looks to well off people.

Josh doesn't seem to mind anything and plops down on the couch and turns on the TV.

I turn to Brooks who's still standing awkwardly along the door.

"Come inside Brooks, no need to stand there. I dont bite.Much"

Brooks looks at me and smiles
"Your house is legit amazing. It looks so homey."

"Ah whale. All because of this momma magician" I wiggle my fingers and eyebrows.

He giggles and steps inside.
I point towards the stairs in the corner.

"Straight up there, is my lair. Go and meddle there I'll  be up in a minute with the script and something to eat. Okay"

He nods and goes.

I dump my bag along with Josh's and ask him if he wants something to eat.

He turns to me
"I'm sorry"

"What?"

"I'm sorry for what I did and said back there. You know I am from a Catholic family and I am taught to despise homosexuals. I didn't know it would affect you like that. I'm sorry."

I just nodded and tossed him an orange.
"No hard feelings?"

"No hard feelings."

He gave me a sheepish grin which made my insides turn into mush.

I told him that me and Brooks are going to rehearse upstairs and he nodded so I grabbed the script, a packet of crisps and went upstairs.

Upstairs I found Brooks sprawled on top of my bed reading one of my manga books.

He looked up as I entered and hurriedly got up and closed the thin book. He looked embarrassed. And cute.

"Naruto huh" I laughed

"Yeaah" He awkwardly scratched the back of his neck and I tossed him the packet of crisps

"Lets get started"
